Vintage 1970's BATMAN AND BATGIRL COSTUME Family Photo

I recently became Friends with a cute girl in California named Cyndi who was kind enough to share this amazing Vintage BATMAN Family Photo. It's a picture of her parents, Sharon and John, at a Halloween Party in the 1970's!! They both went as Batman and Batgirl ( or, is that "Batwoman"? ha ha ). The costumes were homemade, which is the best, and Cyndi said she can still remember her Dad cutting-out the Bat-Logos for them out of felt.

One personal note I'd like to share is that, sadly, Cyndi reported that her Dad is no longer with us but, "He would really enjoy the fact that people would see this picture and it would bring them some happiness". That's very cool. So this post if for him. I already know that people will love it because it's fun and wacky! ( Thanks Cyndi for sharing this cool pic!! )

BATGIRL Does The Batusi!

OH YEAH - BATMAN is EVERYWHERE!!

Yes, I think that if you just try to notice you'll see that BATMAN is everywhere!! Here are a few examples sent to us recently by some loyal Bat-Blog Fans who are awesome. The 1st one is from our Friend "Batmobilly" who lives in Oklahoma City ( That's where I live too ). He went to the Warren Theater the other night to see THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and look at what he saw shining on the ceiling, the Bat-Signal!!

Then, a Friend of ours named Paul was driving the other day down the highway in Denver, Colorado and saw Batgirl's Car! Don't believe me? Just read the License Plate, ha!

Then, and I feel bad about this, a Fan sent us this pic awhile back and I forgot to write his name down and then forgot his name & where he's from. Yeah, I'm an Idiot! But I still appreciate him thinking about the BAT-BLOG and sending us this wonderful photo, it's GREAT! The basic story was he was on his way to work & saw the Batmobile! Yes, the Car of the Caped Crusader! Well, OK, it's not the real one but is "homemade". But still awesome.

BATMAN COSTUMES - Character Cosplay Spotted in Toronto, Canada!

It's weird, I have visited almost every single state in the United States, including Hawaii ( Not Alaska ), but I have never been outside the US. Yeah, I have never been to a "foreign country". That's extremely weird isn't it? But, I have always dreamed of doing so & if I ever get to someday then one place I do plan to visit is Canada. That special area just seems like a really cool place to be.



Anyways, here are some very fun photos sent in to us by a Bat-Blog Fan named Neville. He said that there's a great Canadian Fan Expo Convention in Toronto and to prove it he sent these pics he shot back in 2009. Yes! This is photographic proof that they totally love BATMAN in Canada! Kevin Smith's FAT MAN ON BATMAN Podcast Interviews

Over at the Kevin Smith Website they're doing this Podcast Promo called "Fat Man on Batman" where each week they are interviewing major Batman-related Comic Book Artists, Writers, Animation Voice Actors, etc... 



So far Smith has talked with Paul Dini, Mark Hamill ( The Joker, 2 parts ), Tara Strong ( Batgirl ), & Arleen  Sorkin ( Harley Quinn ). They have all actually been very very good so far. So, if you're a big Batman Fan please be sure to check them out. Just click HERE!

Cosplay Photos From Wizard World's 2012 Philadelphia Comic Con

Wizard World's Philadelphia Comic Con was last weekend and here's photographic proof that some of our Friends in NJ went to the event. The cool thing is that everybody had a SUPER-GREAT time! As always there were plenty of Batman-Style Cosplay People at the show. The 1st few photos share that & I gotta say that I am totally in LOVE ( real love ) with that Catwoman in the 3rd photo, ha ha, no really! 

The list of characters seen, in order, are: Cute Girl Robin, Batman ( Adam West Version ), Batgirl ( 1966 TV Show ), Batman and Robin ( Modern Comic Book ), Modern Catwoman ( My Future Wife ), The Joker, Deathstroke, Killer Moth, Red Hood, Dr. Hugo Strange ( Arkham City version ), The Huntress and a Golden-Age Catwoman.

Also, seen in a few photos is the 1966 Batmobile Car that was supplied to the event by our good friend John Brown, who is a member of the "Gotham City Supercars Club". Big crowds ALWAYS go crazy goo-goo over that beautiful car, that's for sure!

Two Comic Book Artists that are important to the "Batman Universe" were there: Neal Adams and Arthur Suydam. Something very neat is our Friend BatDave got his very 1st Batman comic that he ever owned signed by Neal Adams, very cool! You can actually see Neal's signature in the photo. Now, the very last photo is the group of Friends of ours who all went to the event and they all look pretty happy. OK, I'm super jealous I didn't get to go, ha!

Check out these amazing pictures! Our Dear Friend Melissa was kind enough to send us these wonderful photos from her recent wacky-crazy shopping spree at Wal-Mart. BATWOMAN, BATGIRL, and BATMAN ARKHAM CITY - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

Brand-New Fans of the BAT-BLOG ( where have you been? ) will soon discover that we post a few FREE Batman Backgrounds every week. We call it "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!". Yeah, I know, it's corny but easy to remember.  But anyways, recently I was inspired by some Batman-related Comic Book Covers so that's where these new graphics come from.

The 1st one uses artwork from the cover to the new BATGIRL #12 ( Art by Ardian Syaf and Vicente Cinfuentes ). This issue will be out in August, 2012.

The 2nd one is from BATMAN: ARKHAM UNHINGED # 5 ( Art by Dave Wilkins ), also coming out in August.

Damian's BATMAN BAT-SUIT COSPLAY at Australia's SUPANOVA Pop Culture Expo

OK, This post was created to share some wonderful photos from our Good Friend, Damian. This guy has been working on the perfect BATMAN Bat-Suit for a few years now and really has something cool going. These are some pics where he recently attended the SUPANOVA Show in full-costume. Supanova is a Pop Culture Expo in Australia that just celebrated it's 10th anniversary. GEORGE BARRIS - 1966 Batmobile Creator Seen in the National Enquirer!

Wow! We can't believe it! George Barris, the Creator of the 1966 Batmobile Car, made it into the pages of the National Enquirer! No, George has NOT been abducted by Aliens for Mind-Altering Experiments. If you grab the recent issue you can see him on page 3 surrounded by some beautiful Bat-Babes! Now, here at the BAT-BLOG we sort of know "Batgirl". Her name is Sara, she's a very sweet person and her cosplay costume is awesome! Then, there's a very pretty girl wearing a purrrfect Catwoman Cat-Suit. I think her name is Alexandra. I love the details to these costumes. Plus, it's cool that Barris is getting some mainstream press. I like the headline: GOING BATTY!

ADAM WEST Got His STAR On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame!!

Yesterday, April 5th, 2012, will now always be marked a very important day in Bat-History!! Adam West, Bruce Wayne/Batman on the 1966 BATMAN TV Series, finally got his STAR on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!! Yes, Finally!! Mr. West received his STAR right in front of the Guinness World Records Museum. For the event, George Barris Kustoms brought out an Original 1966 Batmobile. There were also many fans, some dressed as characters from the classic show: Batman, Batgirl, Catwoman, etc... Wow! I wish I could have been there but here's some great photos I found online that were shot by "Adam West The Bat". Which, by the way, is an excellent rock band in the CA area.

The Cutest BATGIRL Costume at Wondercon 2012!

OK, here where I live it's raining and sort of gloomy so I thought it would be a good idea to maybe help brighten someone's day. here are some hilarious pictures & photos sent in to us by our AWESOME Readership! Yes, people submit great stuff and if the BAT-BLOG.COM is any good at all then it's because of them, Thanks Everybody!! Oh yeah, just to be clear, we got that photo of Adam West, from Adam West! ( Thank You, Sir!! You're still a Good Citizen! ). Whoops, One last thing, that picture of Batgirl & the 3 Robins climbing the wall, that's a GREAT parody of the movie poster for "Adventures in Babysitting", Ha Ha!

BATMAN Golden Age Artist SHELDON MOLDOFF Dead at 91

I have some very sad news to share this morning. The Golden Age Comic Book Artist Sheldon Moldoff died last Wednesday, he was 91. In 1940 he created Hawkman for DC Comics and became a major Cover Artist for many very iconic comic books. His work was always amazing! In the 1950's he became Bob Kane's "Ghost Artist" ( with Kane, of course, taking all the credit ). He drew "Batman" from 1953 to 1967. He was responsible for creating many very iconic characters like Bat-Mite, Ace The Bat-Hound, Batwoman, and the Original Bat-Girl ( Betty Kane ). He also co-created Clayface, Poison Ivy, Dr. Achilles Milo, and Mr. Freeze.



To say that he was extremely important in "Bat-History" is no exaggeration. During his life he became a Cult Hero among Cartoonists, Animators, & other Comic Book Artists. In later life he was seen at a lot of Comic Book Conventions where he loved to meet his Fans. The artwork shown here are some of the Comicon Sketches he did. He will be missed & his contributions to both BATMAN and the Comic Book Industry are unlimited. I'm personally very sad about his passing and wish to extent my deepest condolences to his Friends and Family, "Shelly" will be missed, deeply. R.I.P. Sheldon "Shelly" Moldoff.
