THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - A Few New Batman Toys and Products

I knew a long time ago that when THE DARK KNIGHT RISES was going to come out that there would be a HUGE flood of products. I mean, you could just tell that a lot of companies knew it would be a very BIG Blockbuster Movie & they would all want to capitalize on the popularity. But hey, for us Batman Toy Collectors that's a great thing! Oh sure, there's absolutely NO WAY to be able to afford to buy it all ( ha ha ha! ) but there will be some really great variety out there so that's cool. Well, OK, Check out these 2 examples:

First, from Heroclix, we got the BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES HeroClix Mini-Figures. This photo shows the Store Display filled with the product ( I love the Header Card ). These are set to come out in August 2012 and there will be 29 different figures to collect.

Next, is a new statue from DC Direct. Right now they're calling it, The "BANE WINTER BATTLE" Bust. It was sculpted by Dave Cortes and Paul Harding. It will measure about 6 1/4" Tall, will retail for around $79.95, and you can look for it on sale on October 3rd, 2012.

Cool JACK NICHOLSON JOKER ART BUST STATUE - Painted by Lee From The UK

Here's a fun post sharing some pictures sent to us all the way from the UK! This is a JACK NICHOLSON JOKER Art Bust Statue painted by a Bat-Blog Fan named Lee. Like I said he lives in England and also likes to be creative every now & then. Well, he recently painted this "Mike Hill Sculpt" of the Joker and it's pretty amazing! The detailing is really nice. He said he, "added that fake flower later", and I think it really accents the piece nicely, great job Lee!

Pete's Custom MICHAEL KEATON BATMAN STATUE BUST Update

Awhile back, here at the BAT-BLOG.COM, we featured a few photos of the work of some very creative people who have been inspired by Batman. One Artist was a guy named Pete & this photo was recently sent in to us. It's his Custom BATMAN BUST Statue, "Michael keaton" version. The previous photo showed the piece in an early stage of creation. Well, this pic was taken after it was all painted! My favorite part, and I know this is kinda dumb on my part, is the "Bat-Belt" design at the base. I don't know, that's kinda clever. But overall it's a great piece. So, have YOU done any drawing, painting, or any other creative endeavor? HEY! Shoot us some pics & send them in! ( Thanks Pete, Good Job on this Art! )

Let's Celebrate BATMAN-INSPIRED Creativity!

Here at the Bat-Blog we love it when Batman Fans get creative & use their inspiration of the character as a means to create ART! Here are 2 great examples: The 1st photo is a sculpture bust made by our friend Pete. It's in the early stages, but it will be used to make a latex mask bat-cowl. Now the funny thing is that Pete told me this was going to be a "Keaton BATMAN Movie" version, and he didn't even need to say that. I mean, just look at it, IT IS TOTALLY Michael Keaton!

Next up is a Bat-Vehicle I saw awhile back on eBay. It's a Custom Golf Cart designed to look like the Tumbler Batmobile from the recent Batman movies. Now, I don't play golf, but I would completely love to own this cool toy! ( Hint, Hint: My birthday is in January, ha! )

Pete Arico's JACK NICHOLSON JOKER Sculpture Bust Statue - 1989 BATMAN Movie

Check out this amazing "JACK NICHOLSON JOKER" Sculpture Bust! It's crazy-good!! This pic was sent in by a Bat-Blog Fan named Pete Arico and this is one of his first statues he made! Pete is trying to get into the Sculpture Business & is a totally Self-Taught Artist. Well, it only took me 1 micro-second to recognize that this is Jack Nicholson from the 1989 BATMAN Movie...So, that's a great start! This piece really captures the essence of the character, from the costume, all the way to that famous smile. Thanks for sharing this cool pic Pete & keep up the good work!

BATMAN 1:2 Scale ART BUST STATUE - New Custom Paint Job

OK, here's sort of a sad story but with a happy ending. Shown here are 3 photos of an excellent Batman Art Bust Statue ( Large 1:2 Scale ). But many of you who are familiar with this piece, made by DC Direct, is gonna say, "Hey, the colors are all wacky!" Ha Ha! Well, this Bat-Statue is owned by our friend Dallas & he had to have it both restored & repainted. Why? Because his small Son accidentally knocked this thing off a table & broke it in a few places leaving obvious damage. The nose was now gone & the cowl had broken areas. He had a friend fix it for him & since it was going to need to be repainted they decided to make it the traditional blue instead of the original black color. WOW! The statue now looks really great! Dallas' friend did a great job on it. The "blue" was an interesting choice & sort of reminds me of the older Silver Age Batman...very cool! ( Thanks to Dallas for sending us the cool pics ).

BAT-BLOG CONTEST - BATMAN BUST STATUE From HEROES OF THE DC UNIVERSE Series

YES Boys & Girls! It's time again for a World Famous Bat-Blog Contest where this time the prize we're giving away is an incredible BATMAN BUST Statue from the HEROES OF THE DC UNIVERSE Collection ( it's the 2nd piece to the series )! Oh man, it's so beautiful! Seriously, when I opened the box I was kind of shocked by how nice this thing actually is ( photos don't do it justice ). The details are really insane. You can see "wrinkles" in Batman's Bat-Suit Costume that look very realistic. The base of the statue is meant to look like Gotham City's Dark Knight is perched on a rooftop, near a Gargoyle, & that part looks like it is actually stone & brick material. This hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain bust measures approximately 6" high x 3 1/4" wide x 4 1/2" deep and is packaged in a 4-color box. Overall, the whole thing is very highly detailed. Batman is holding his Bat-a-rang & it looks very real too. The rope is actually a very thick wire & looks kinda neat. Also, the paint job on this baby is really great... the colors are extremely accurate! I could go on & on about how wonderful it is but if you win you'll see. Now, how to enter. You must email us your Full Name & Address. You can only enter once & you must also put "BAT-BLOG CONTEST : BATMAN BUST #1" in the title of your email. The contest will go on until April 6th, 2010 & will close at 12:00 midnight ( Central Time ). Then, the very next day, the lucky winner will be announced right here on this website. So see, it's pretty easy! Just send us your full name & address plus put the right title in the email. Now, the most important thing about this message is that this contest was made possible by the extremely super-generous donation of a Bat-Blog Reader nicknamed BATFAN! He sent this to us knowing that many other Batman Fans would totally love this thing. He's right! This statue is very impressive. So, thank you very very very much to BATFAN, I really appreciate your patronage... you're GREAT!!

Chuck Williams' BATMAN BUST Retro-Style Statue

OK, I saw this on the web recently & had to totally show it off because Chuck is a friend & an amazing artist! Here is a small BUST STATUE of BATMAN done in a Retro -Vintage style. It's made to look kind of like the old comic book art from the past. Plus, it's modeled after the 1966 Adam West TV version of the character. Personally, I think this thing is incredibly well done & a Total Masterpiece! It's shown here in 3 versions: Painted & two done in Raw Colors. The 2 colors are PALE GRAY, which makes it look like a fine art statue & brings out a lot of details. Then there is BLUE, which is sort of translucent a little bit & totally reminds me of those MARX TOY Action Figures made in the 1960's. Actually all 3 are really great & if I had to pick a favorite one it would be way too hard to decide. But really, now that I think about it, the painted version is the winner!

TOY GARAGE - Toy Collector Magazine From Taiwan with Batman Movie Cover!

Jerry, our friend who lives in Taiwan, sent us these photos of a Toy Collector Magazine there called TOY GARAGE. This issue came out around the time of THE DARK KNIGHT movie & featured some cool Bat-Collectibles. In fact, Batman was on the cover & the main story was about some of the statues & busts made by HOT TOYS & KOTOBUKIYA. It's so cool to me how Batman is extremely popular all over the world. Thanks Jerry for sending these wonderful pics!
