New BATMAN MEGO DOLL Acyrlic Action Words for Display!

For a long time I have been a member of the MEGO MUSEUM Forum but have not participated in awhile because I've been so busy. If you're a Vintage Mego Doll Action Figure Toy Collector then you need to check it out. Anyways, a friend over at Facebook, named Jon, told me about this amazing new "Mego" Product some Artist is making. Basically, they're small custom made clear-acrylic standees that you put in front of your figures for display. They have the "action words" you might remember seeing on the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. Words like: Pow! Boff! & KaPow! I think these items are totally great & a very clever idea. Plus, they're only $8.00 which is a good price. Here's a LINK to check them out. ( Thanks Jon )

NEW BATMAN COLLECTIBLES - Wonderful BATGIRL and CATWOMAN PULLIP DOLLS From JAPAN!

POW! Here are 2 brand-new Bat-Collectibles to keep an eye out for because they're both extremely cool! I mean, I totally love these!! Here are BATGIRL and CATWOMAN Dolls made by Pullip Toys of Japan. These awesome Japanese Toys were sold as an EXCLUSIVE at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con! But don't worry, they're also being sold online & finding them is pretty easy. They retail for around $130.00 each. In one photo you can see their nice Display Boxes. The dolls are really great. I like their big heads ( ha ha ) & the costumes are wonderful. Also, the very last photo shows 2 variations that were EXCLUSIVES in Japan only. They were sold at the "Wonder Festival" & are limited to 400 pieces each. Personally, I like the SDCC versions better because their hair color is more accurate.

Glenn's CUSTOM BATMAN TOYS With CATWOMAN Dolls and 1967 BATGIRL Model Kit

Check out these amazing Custom Catwoman Dolls, Batgirl Model Kit, & Re-Designed Retro-Style Batman Toys! These were all made and or customized by our friend Glenn, also known as "infadoll". He likes to take old beat-up toys and give them new life. His main focus is Superhero-related characters. Shown here are two versions of Catwoman. The 1st one is Julie Newmar from the 1966 BATMAN TV Series. The fabric for the costume looks great & the necklace is really nice too. Then you have the "Golden Age" version from the 1940's comic books...MEOW!

The 3rd photo shows his talent for adding dioramas to his model kits. Here is a "Yvonne Craig" Batgirl from the 2nd season of TV's BATMAN. Wow, the face looks just like hers! Then, look at the last 2 pics. This is an old Vintage 1960's Palmolive BATMAN SOAKY Bubble Bath Bottle... transformed into ADAM WEST! If you're not familiar with the old toy it was actually extremely simple-looking & basic. In Glenn's version he detailed it quite a bit & made it more authentic to the TV Show, Coolness! He has a pretty awesome website & there is actually way more there that I can't post. So, if you enjoy his work, then click HERE!

SAVE THE RETRO ACTION DC SUPER HEROES TOYS!!

This is sort of sad news for Toy Collectors out there. Mattel has decided to cancel the RETRO ACTION DC SUPER HEROES Toy Line. These are the brand-new 8" figures that were made to sort of be like the old vintage MEGO DOLLS from the 1970's. They're totally great toys, very very cool! Well, some Toy Collectors have got together & created a "SAVE THE RETRO LINE" Petition to try & get Mattel to continue making the figures. Basically, what they're saying to Mattel is, "If retail stores don't seem like a profitable solution, then consider making these Retro figures as exclusives on mattycollector.com or consider an annual subscription service." It's sort of a desperate attempt but I think if they got enough people involved then maybe it has a chance. So, if you love the Old Mego Dolls or enjoy collecting these new ones then please CLICK HERE & sign the petition. Every signature helps! Also, please be sure to tell all your friends about it too.

POLLY POCKET - Dressed For Justice - DC Comics 75

To sort of continue the "DC Comics 75th Anniversary" event Mattel has released a special boxed set of POLLY POCKET Figures called "Dressed For Justice!". You get 3 dolls of the main Polly Pocket characters dressed-up in Supergirl, Wonder Woman, & Batgirl costume! Personally, I really like the one of Batgirl, very cute, & the packaging is pretty cool too the way the box-lid slides open to reveal the figures inside. That's a neat design concept. This toy will hit stores soon & the retail price will be around $20.00, keep an eye out. ( I know that little girls are gonna go totally crazy for these! )

MEGO DOLLS TOY CATALOG 1978 - Mego Museum!

Over at the MEGO MUSEUM they recently thought about the idea of "What if the Mego Toy Company had NOT gone out of business & they had created a 1978 Toy Catalog?". What would it look like & what sort of products might they have come out with? Well, here's the answer! The Mego Museum has made an extremely cool "fake catalog" of "1978" Mego Dolls & Accessories titled "1978 REIMAGINED". It's loaded with a ton of beautiful color photos showing many Custom Mego Dolls of items we all wish they would have had the chance to make. What if they extended their line of Superhero Toys? What if they made some 8" KISS Dolls? How about if they made Cartoon Characters like Scooby Doo? What about the early SUPERMAN Movies? My favorite is the idea of making dolls based on the 1966 BATMAN TV Series. They also ask the question, what if Mego had got to do Star Wars figures back in the day? The list goes on & on. This looks like a pretty cool product & a great idea. If you would like more information on this then be sure to visit their website today by clicking HERE!

Jerry's Photos: CUSTOM BATMAN 12" HOT TOYS FIGURES

Our good friend Jerry, who lives in Taiwan, sent us some amazing photos the other day. He recently went to a store at some shopping mall in Taipei City called "Taiwan Figure Union". He said he saw a lot of awesome stuff, such as these 12" Batman Movie Custom Figures that some Bat-Fans got to display in the front store windows. I have to say that they are all very impressive with really great head sculpts. I mean, some of them look just like the original actors! The main focus for most of the dolls appear to be the 2005 BATMAN BEGINS movie, but in photo #2 we get to see a version from an earlier Batman movie, maybe 1992 BATMAN RETURNS-inspired. They made one of the "R'as al Ghul" character & it looks exactly like Liam Neeson, ha! They also made a more Modern Day "Comic Book JOKER" but used the body from THE DARK KNIGHT Heath Ledger figure by HOT TOYS ( in fact, I think all these customs were made using HOT TOYS bodies and it was just the heads & clothing that were customized ). The one of Police Sergeant Jim Gordon is one of my personal favorites as they did an amazing job on Gary Oldman's face. They did a few variations on Bruce Wayne's character which are pretty interesting. Overall, I would have to say that I'm very very impressed with all of these. As a side-note: I'm not really sure if they were all done by one artist or many different ones, but either way, very great work! Also, I wanna thank Jerry for taking the time to shoot these pics & sharing his love of the Batman Character with us. It's really neat seeing what goes on in Taiwan & it's so cool that there are serious Bat-Fans there too!!
