BATMAN and THE HUNTRESS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

Just in the nick of time I realized that today is Wednesday and you know what that means, Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!! OK, if you will please indulge me I thought I would post a few that kind of promote this website, BAT-BLOG.COM.

The first one features artwork, a new TV promo shot, from the BEWARE THE BATMAN animated series that will come out later. It's a very cool graphic & I can't wait till this things hits the air. 

Next, is a Wallpaper made from a photo of the next DC Comics Statue from everybody's favorite Comic Book Statue & Toy Company, Kotobukiya of Japan. It's THE HUNTRESS!!

Kuan's Amazing VINTAGE BATMAN TOY COLLECTION Photos!!

OK, I guess these photos were sent to me as a form of torture! ( Ha Ha! Just kidding! ) Actually these pics were shared by a friend of ours named Kuan who lives in Singapore. He was kind enough to share a part of his Vintage BATMAN Toy Collection with us and there is some amazing stuff here! Oh man, just look at all the Tin Toy Battery-Operated (Japan) Batmobiles... SO COOL! 

He also likes to collect action figures and there are some really nice ones here. I should also add that he likes to create Custom Figures ( or maybe he just buys them already made, I forgot to ask ). Stuff like, "Ernie and Bert as Batman and Robin" or "Simpsons Characters in Bat-Suits", how fun!! Thank you Kuan, you have some super great stuff here and I really appreciate you taking the time to take these wonderful pics. yeah, I'm gonna go cry now.

New DC Comics BATMAN STATUE - THE HUNTRESS BISHOUJO STATUE by KOTOBUKIYA

A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese Import!  Coming up next in the DC Comics Bishoujo Collection is the fiercely independent HUNTRESS!  This new statue is based on an original illustration by famed Japanese Artist Shunya Yamashita ( Shown down below ). She measures about 9 ½ inches tall (1/7 scale) on an exclusive base with a decorative griffin under her foot. This HUNTRESS was sculpted by Masahiro Takashi (GILL GILL).  Suggested Retail Price will be about $64.99 and has a Release Date of December 2012. So, look for it then!

BAT-MANGA: Deane Aikins’ BATMAN Figure Based on the Art of Jiro Kuwata

Over at our Friend Chip Kidd's Website the other day he posted some cool photos of an amazing BATMAN BAT-MANGA Figure created by Deane Aikins. It's really more like a small full-body Statue and it's based on the artwork style of Japanese Manga Artist, Jiro Kuwata. This thing is totally INSANE, just look at it!! HOT TOYS New 1966 BATMOBILE VEHICLE Batman Car!!

Just a quick post to share a few photos from the 2012 San Diego Comic Con where the Brand-New HOT TOYS 1966 Batmobile Batman Vehicle made an appearance, YES!! Oh man, this Japanese Toy Company just keeps torturing me, arrgghh!

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - New HOT TOYS CATWOMAN SELINA KYLE FIGURE

OK, This is all we got right now from HOT TOYS but judging by this teaser photo they sent we're looking at a special CATWOMAN / SELINA KYLE Figure to rise-up soon! This new DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie Figure will be 1/6 Scale and probably extremely detailed. Also, knowing this Toy Company, it's going to be awesome and will completely torture me, ha!

Vintage BATMAN Japanese Tin Toy Robots and Batmobile Cars

OK, This photo is just complete torture for me but it's still great to see some amazing Vintage 1960's Japanese Batman Toys!! The Guy on the right is our Good Friend Yuji who, if I remember right, lives in Dubai. Anyway he recently traveled to Japan to photograph this guy's BATMAN Tin Toy Collection. This Toy Collector has some extremely RARE and insane stuff, "Museum Pieces" actually! Shown here are just a few tiny examples of Tin Toy Robots and Battery-Operated Batmobile Cars. Yuji shot the stuff on Digital Video because he's working on a "Batman Toy Collecting" Documentary. We can't wait to see it!!

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - Batman Spotted in Sendai, Japan!!

Here at the BAT-BLOG we have a friend in Japan named Ray who sent us these wonderful photos from his recent trip to the movies. This is an advertising display seen in Sendai, Japan to promote THE DARK KNIGHT RISES film. There, the movie doesn't have a release date until next week and everyone is really excited! We know that Ray will probably be the very first person in line. ( Thanks Ray )

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Costume Exhibit in Japan

OK, I'm not sure what Shopping Mall these pics were taken in but it was someplace in Japan & Warner Bros is starting a thing called "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Costume Exhibit". As soon as it hits America & I get more info I will be sharing show dates. In the mean time just drool over these amazing photos sent to us by our friend Aishi. He said it was incredible getting to see the original movie props & costumes from the next Batman film. They had the suits for Batman, Catwoman, and Bane! ( Thank You & Doumo Arigatou Gozaimasu Aishi! )

JAPANESE BATMAN BAT-MANGA TATTOO ART

Over at the Official CHIP KIDD Website they recently posted an awesome BATMAN TATTOO ART Photo that is based on the BAT-MANGA Japanese Comic Book Bat-Logo & it's really great! This tattoo is on the leg of a guy named Marcio, who lives in Rio de Janeiro, and I gotta say it's really cool. I like it a lot!

Pepsi NEX / Batman THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie Promo in JAPAN!

Here at the Bat-Blog we have pretty much stayed on top of all the news with the Mountain Dew / Batman Dark Knight Rises Movie Promo here in the US. Well, a Friend from the other side of the globe sent us this advertisement he recently saw in Japan. It looks like over there the promo will be done with Pepsi NEX! This ad is all in Japanese ( which I totally love, but can't read ) but it appears they're offering the chance to win some tickets or a Special T-Shirt. Plus, I'm sure there will be many more gimmicks so please stay tuned  and we'll let ya know.

OK, This is just a quick post to share this short video that features an extremely RARE and very cool 1960's BATMAN Japanese Tin Toy Batmobile Car by Ichimura Shoten ©1966. This example is not in the best condition, slight "rust issues", but it's SO rare ( even in Japan ) that it doesn't really matter. It's beautiful, check it out and cry!

HARLEY QUINN Will Be the Next DC Comics Bishoujo Statue by Kotobukiya

The Joker's ever faithful Companion and Partner in Crime, HARLEY QUINN, is the newest Femme Fatale to appear in Kotobukiya's DC Comics Bishoujo statue collection. She stands a little bit over 10 inches tall ( 1:7 Scale to be exact ). This image of HARLEY QUINN is based on an original
illustration from Japanese Artist Shunya Yamashita. He was inspired by the character's look in Batman: The Animated Series rather than her current 'modernized' appearance in DC Comics. This PVC STATUE was sculpted by Masahiro "Gill Gill" Takahashi to keep the level of detail fans demand from the line. Kotobukiya's HARLEY QUINN Bishoujo Statue is due to come out in September, 2012 and will retail for around $59.99.

BATMAN EXTREME!! A New Batman Toy Collector Blog!

This post is a shout-out to a Friend of ours who has been doing an excellent job on a new Batman Toy Collector Blog called "Batman Extreme"! Now, he's a Major Batman Fan and he shares a bunch of cool stuff! At the end of this post I'll share a LINK to it but I gotta warn ya, his site is mostly done in Japanese! But wait, there is plenty of eye-candy to enjoy plus, he does some posts in English. Also, it's really not that hard to figure out how to navigate the site.

One tip, at the bottom of all his posts there is a "Pagination Area" where you click the numbers "2, 3, 4, etc..." Just click those and you can enjoy the whole site. There is some neat stuff like Tin Toys ( Robots and Batmobile cars ). Plus, a lot of new merchandise. It looks like he might focus on "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES" Movie Action Figures a little bit too. New 2012 KOTOBUKIYA BATMAN - POISON IVY Bishoujo Statue

The Japanese Toy Company, KOTOBUKIYA, just released their latest 2012 Statue of Batman's Arch-Enemy, POISON IVY! She's done in the Bishoujo (Pretty Girl) Style inspired by Japan's renowned Illustrator, Shunya Yamashita. One of the most detailed statues in the "DC Bishoujo" series to date, Pamela Isley struts her stuff in this wonderful piece of Art! Constructed of high-quality plastic, the gorgeous Green Lady stands 8 and 1/3" tall! For more details, click HERE!

New KOTOBUKIYA BATMAN STATUES For 2012 - THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS ( Joker )

At the recent 2012 TOY FAIR the Japanese Toy and Collectible Statue Company, KOTOBUKIYA, showed off 2 new prototypes for a few BATMAN Statues they plan on coming out with! The 1st one featured here is THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman Statue. It's a full-figure piece with a base that looks like "crumbled building" debris. Please keep in mind this is only the "prototype" and the actual product may vary. In fact, it will obviously be painted, ha! But these wonderful pics give you a great idea on the amazing attention to detail ( click the 2nd photo for a larger example ).


OK, the next Statue is sort of a surprise! They're making a Diorama-Style Statue of BATMAN and The JOKER in Battle. Plus, it's a scene from the classic Frank Miller Graphic Novel, THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS!
