Check out this extremely cool photo from our Bat-Friend Matt. He was driving down the street, randomly going by the Warner Bros Studio Building, when all of a sudden, BAMM! There's a HUGE Billboard Sign on the bldg advertising THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie! Yes, it's the Movie Poster with Bane turning his back, walking away, with a broken BATMAN Mask on the ground. AWESOME! ( Thanks Matt for sharing this great pic, I'm actually JEALOUS! )

RARE German Vintage BATMAN Mask Premium Give-Away!

I got an email late last night from a good friend named Ralf who lives in Germany. While going through a few things he came across this old BATMAN MASK ( Circa 1979 ) and was kind enough to send us some wonderful photos. Ralf also explained,
"Have you ever seen this Mask? It was printed by the German Ehapa-Verlag in the 1970s/80s. For some coupons, which were published in Superman/Batman and other comic books, the reader could get Wall Posters ( One was the Blueprint Chart of the Bat-Cave, another one was the famous "Running Batman" by Neal Adams ) , This BATMAN Mask, and a ruined comic-book."WOW! This is very cool information! One thing I love about being a serious Vintage BATMAN Toy Collector is that there is so much stuff you can never know everything. I mean, I've been hardcore serious for 20+ years & it seems like I come across "new" vintage items all the time. You know, "things you have never seen, ever"... I love that! Thanks Ralf for sharing your pictures, I appreciate that ( Ich Danke Ihnen! ).

DESMOND Models His New BATMAN T-SHIRT From Old Navy!

Late last night we got some wonderful photos in our email box from our very best super friend, Desmond! He's shown here modeling a brand new BATMAN T-Shirt he got recently at Old Navy. His Mom said, "Old Navy has been carrying Batman merchandise on a regular basis now and I continue to find great tees there."

In the next photo we see Desmond wearing his favorite Bat-Mask! His Mom said, "This kid is obsessed with the bat! We also found a Batman ski mask for adults that he has been wearing for a week now...we are lucky to get him to take it off for dinner and bedtime. He gets that mask on and runs around whispering in a spooky tone "I'm Batman". We think it's quite possible he thinks he really is Batman!"

Let's Celebrate BATMAN-INSPIRED Creativity!

Here at the Bat-Blog we love it when Batman Fans get creative & use their inspiration of the character as a means to create ART! Here are 2 great examples: The 1st photo is a sculpture bust made by our friend Pete. It's in the early stages, but it will be used to make a latex mask bat-cowl. Now the funny thing is that Pete told me this was going to be a "Keaton BATMAN Movie" version, and he didn't even need to say that. I mean, just look at it, IT IS TOTALLY Michael Keaton!

Next up is a Bat-Vehicle I saw awhile back on eBay. It's a Custom Golf Cart designed to look like the Tumbler Batmobile from the recent Batman movies. Now, I don't play golf, but I would completely love to own this cool toy! ( Hint, Hint: My birthday is in January, ha! )

ADAM WEST BATMAN on MOUNT RUSHMORE

I totally love this "Mount Batmore" photo because it's both funny & very clever! This is our friend Steve & he took this pic while on vacation in South Dakota. While there, he went to the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. The photo sort of shows what the sculpture would look like if they added "Adam West". Yes, I think we need to start a petition, ha ha! I wanna thank Steve for sharing this wonderful photo and, before I forget, I gotta say that 1966 Bat-Cowl is awesome! As a side note: He says he's going to take a few more pics like this at other famous landmarks... and I can't wait to see them!

Ralph Meets Adam West ( 1966 TV Batman Actor )

A Good Bat-Blog Citizen, named Ralph, sent us this amazing photo of the time he got to meet Adam West on the set of "Living in TV Land". Mr. West even wore a special Batman Cowl for the photo! Oh man, that totally cracks me up! Adam is known for having a very dry sense of humor & he likes to play a lot of practical jokes. Knowing what a HUGE Batman Fan Ralph is he must have been freaked out when getting this picture taken. It is pretty cool! Thank you Ralph for sharing this wonderful pic, it's great! ( If any other Bat-Blog Readers have met any of the actors or artists affliated with the Batman character then please send us a photo today! )

Batman Collector Shares a Few Photos of New Merchandise

Here are some photos of a few recent Batman products that are pretty clever. Our friend Chris sent these pics of a few new items he bought. The 1st one is a Batman knitted cap ski-mask you wear & when you pull it down it makes a cowl, awesome! The next 2 photos are a very interesting Batman Bat-Cycle ( or is it Bat-Bike? ) Pillow. It's kinda large & I like that it is also sort of excessively cute. Chris said that one of his favorite details to the motorcycle is that the tire thread looks like the bat-logo shape, a nice touch. Yeah, Chris, Thank you for sending the pics. As a major Batman Fan & Collector it's always great to see what Bat-Merchandise is out there. If any other readers come across brand-new items that are kinda quirky or unusual then please let us know.

New BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Birthday Masks at Party City!

A reader of the Bat-Blog recently sent in these pics of his 2 sons. He said he got these Batman Party Masks at a place called PARTY CITY for $1.93 each! It's a Birthday Party Supply store & he said that besides plates, cups, napkins ( the usual stuff ), there were also some toy prizes like the Grappling Hook & the Batarang too! The neat thing about the masks is that they are not those flat die-cut paper ones they usually make but are sort of 3D plastic-molded ( He did say they were kind of cheap & flimsy but they're still awesome ). David said when he was returning home from the store he could see his kids in the backseat wearing the masks & seeing the "creepy eyes" was sort of weird, ha ha! I gotta admit I have always liked this "Birthday party" stuff because it's so unusual. Plus, it's kind of inexpensive & fun to look at. Now, these masks are totally great & I am going to have to buy a few of these! Thank you David for sending in the wonderful photos.

Batman Fan Goes Batty on MySpace!

I use MySpace to promote the Bat-Blog, stay in touch with friends / family, & meet new people. For a little while it was sort of addictive but I'm OK now, ha ha. Recently I made a new friend named Kearstin. She's a very pretty girl who loves comic books, cosplay ( superhero costumes ), & Batman. The other day I visited her photo gallery to see a new costume she had made. While there I saw this totally hilarious photo & knew I had to post it, ha ha! She was kind enough to share it & I appreciate that. It's just a really wonderful picture ( Thanks Kearstin ). On a side note, if ANY Bat-Blog Readers are on MySpace & we're not friends yet then please ADD ME!! Here's a link button:

ADAM WEST-STYLE BATMAN Spotted In Tyler, Texas!

Last May 2nd was FREE COMIC BOOK DAY at every friendly neighborhood Comic Book Shop in the USA. Included in the list was GROUND ZERO COMICS in Tyler, Texas. But the cool thing was they had BATMAN there! OK, not the "Official Batman" like Christian Bale, Michael Keaton, Adam West, or others. But the next best thing...our friend, Deacon Bill! Bill wore a really excellent "1966 Batman TV Show" style costume with cape & cowl! He even had the cool Bat-Belt to complete the really well-made "Adam West" Bat-Suit! So, I wanna thank Bill for sending me the fun photo & also wanna invite everyone else who may have some "Bat-Moment Photos" to share then send them here. Remember, the Bat-Blog is all about FUN! Oh yeah, and toy collecting. and enjoying the cartoons, and...

PHOTOS: Vintage 1966 BATMAN TOYS & COLLECTIBLES

Today I thought I would get back to what the Bat-Blog does best & that is covering the old Vintage Batman Toys from the past. Here's a really nice assortment of items from the 1960's. In fact, most of these came out in 1966 to capitalize on the popularity of the '66 Batman TV Show. The 1st photo is an extremely RARE Batman Halloween Costume by the Berwick Company, for the British UK market. I love the retro-style artwork on the original box, nice! The 2nd piece of Bat-History is kinda goofy but also very desirable by many collectors because of it's rarity. It's an unopened package of Hallmark Birthday Gift Wrap! Oh man, the original retail price was only 25 cents, ha ha! The next item to drool over is the front & back of the Classic 1966 Batman & Joker Paddle Ball Game! You can find this toy sometimes, loose, out of the package, but here it's shown with the original retail bag & header card...most sweet! The last item is one of those Tin-Metal Bicycle License Plate Tags made by LOUIS MARX & CO, INC. This one with THE JOKER graphics is super-dooper rare! In the past I have seen these with Batman & Robin but I think they also made Penguin & Riddler ones too. Anyways, hope you liked some of these. If you have any super-rare Batman pieces to share then please send them in. The Bat-Blog is all about sharing the love of collecting both new & vintage bat-items, thanks.

ART: BATMAN MASK Paper Craft Project ( Adam West 1966 Cowl )

A friend sent me this link to a very cool art project that everybody can do ( Thanks Brian, you ROCK, Sir ). Basically you print the PDF file, cut it out, & you have a Paper Batman Mask! I suggest using some kind of card stock. I can't wait to make mine, ha ha! It sort of reminds me of the cowl worn by Adam West in the 1960's TV Show...AWESOME! Come to think of it these would be very cool to make for a little kid's birthday party. The mask was created by a very talented artist named Katie. Here's a link to her page:
