Here's a great piece of Batman Graphic Art I came across the other day while surfing the web. It's a HARLEY QUINN PIN-UP created by Ben Hickling. Ben is a Graphic Artist living in Bristol, England. I like the "Cartoon Style" and the 3-D rendering is pretty cool! To view more of his ART just click HERE!
Yesterday I was on Facebook and was surprised to see this amazing portrait of CATWOMAN by a Digital Artist named Randy Silvia. He was kind enough to allow me to post it & I knew I had to share it on the Bat-Blog, it's beautiful!! He created it with Adobe Illustrator CS. Please be sure to click on it for a large, more detailed, picture. ( Thanks Randy ).
A friend of mine sent me a link the other day to website for an amazing Graphic Artist named Mark Fredrickson. His artwork is extremely cool & I've known about his work for a long time but never knew his name, ha! You see, he created a few of the covers for MAD Magazine when they have done a parody of the Batman films. You might remember seeing the image shown here of Alfred E. Neuman as The Joker ( Heath Ledger version ). Mark also did a lot of the Stock Art ( or Style Guide Art ) used to promote THE DARK KNIGHT Movie Franchise. His images were placed in magazines, advertising, & other media packaging. Anyways, it's all good stuff & if you would like to see more of his work then just click HERE!
I know this guy named Dean Trippe who is a Graphic Artist / Illustrator & he is extremely talented. The cool thing is that he is also a serious Batman Fan. Well, recently he became inspired by his appreciation of the British DOCTOR WHO TV Show & decided to meld it with his love of the Silver-Age Batman & Robin stories. So, he created this parody comic book cover as sort of an homage ( click on it for a larger, sharper, version ). The art is really great & I totally love the vintage-style Batmobile car! If you would like to purchase this Fine Art Print then be sure to visit his etsy website by clicking HERE!
Michael B. Myers is a 27 year old Graphic Designer and, as a personal project, he recently created a few "Vintage Style Superhero Posters" featuring a few of our favorite DC Comics characters. He actually made a lot of them ( Green Lantern, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, & Hawkman) but because the Bat-Blog is mostly Batman-related, I thought I would just post these 2 of The Dark Knight and Robin. If you would like to see more then just click HERE!
For every person who is familiar with the Classic MR. MEN Children Books this post will be totally hilarious! A Graphic designer named "Seven Hundred" recently did a series of "Fake Book Covers" that are all a complete parody of the MR. MEN books but instead of the Mr.Men characters he used comic book super heroes. They're kind of silly ( which they're suppose to be ) but they're very well done & retain the "Mr. Men art-style". He did a lot of Batman ones & I'm only showing a couple of examples here. To see them all be sure to click HERE!
OK, I hope I don't need to explain who Pablo Picasso is, ha ha! But he was an artist who helped define Modern Art & one of his most popular styles was cubism. Well, the designers at WONDER BROS recently created many Superhero Paintings in the Picasso-Style & they're totally AWESOME! In fact, the name of the Gallery is "Artwork So Awesome It will Melt Your Face Off", ha ha! Now because the Bat-Blog is all Batman-related I only posted the ones of Batman & The Joker but if you visit their website you can see ones of Spiderman, Wolverine, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Silver Surfer, Superman, Green Lantern, Captain America, & many many more! They are all extremely funny & very well-executed...To see them all, just click HERE!
I got an e-mail tonight from a good friend who sent these cool pics ( click on the drawing up above for a larger picture ). They're some sketches of a "Batman Bat-Suit" he says he's going to make! His name is "BroHawk" & he's an extremely talented graphic artist ( mostly comic books ). So, you know this thing is gonna be awesome! I'm actually kind of excited about it & hope he sends us some photos later...can't wait to see it. Thanks to BroHawk for sending the cool artwork & hey, get busy!
I recently met a Graphic Artist named Gerry Cleary. The cool thing is that he is a HUGE Batman Fan & sent me this amazing artwork he did of the Joker. Of course it's the "Heath Ledger version" of the character from "The Dark Knight" movie. I knew I had to share it here & since the graphic was so large I thought I would make it a Batman Desktop Wallpaper. It has a cartoon style but is also very detailed. Look at the Joker Playing Cards, they're cool. The pattern on Joker's shirt is exactly like the one worn by Heath in the movie, a nice detail. The 1st picture shown here is the Desktop Wallpaper I made & the 2nd photo is Gerry's original graphic. As you can see this guy has a lot of talent. If you're interested in seeing more of his graphic work then be sure to click HERE!
Dean Trippe is an extremely talented comic book artist, graphic designer, & cartoonist. He's also a friend of mine...well, on Facebook & MySpace anyway, ha ha. In this video you can watch him start with a blank sheet of paper, do some roughs, the pencils, then totally ink a complete sketch drawing of Black Canary & Batman. It's pretty interesting to watch! At least I think so & I hope you do too.
I recently met a new friend named Pat who's an extremely talented Graphic Artist. You might recognize his work if you have bought any of those Bluewater Comics on Political Heroes ( Barack Obama or Sarah Palin ) or New Doc Savage Paperback Books. He also does a lot of other projects but in his spare time he likes to draw Batman just because he's a huge fan of the character. Well, these 2 Batman Desktop Wallpapers were drawn by him! The first one is the colored version & the 2nd one shows his amazing pencil work. The main image is Batman ( Adam West ) doing the Batusi, the Forbidden Dance! Plus there's a smaller image of The Joker ( Cesar Romero ). If you would like to see more art work by this extremely talented artist then check out this link button to his gallery down below:
I know from personal experience that many of Bat-Blog Readers are very creative people & there are even a lot of graphic artists who read this page. So, that's the reason for this post, to pass along this information about a Design Contest sponsored by DC Comics. Here's something that's so extremely cool I knew I had to share it with you guys. Our friend Reis, who is a Graphic Designer & writes the Geek Orthodox blog, is taking a Flash Animation Class at school. For one of his assignments he was told to create some kind of "schematic or blueprint" that was interactive plus it needed to explain the function of an item. So, he chose Batman's Bat-Utility Belt! It shows what all the compartments are & where Batman stores his various crime-fighting tools. You'll see where batman keeps his Grappling Hook Gun, Bat-Cuffs, Smoke Bombs, Bat-a-rangs, etc...He did it with the idea of, "What if the Cartoon Network hired me to do this for their Batman: The Brave and The Bold website?". For my example I'm showing a few pictures here, to give you an idea what it looks like, but if you click the "BATMAN UTILITY BELT" button down below you can experience the actual Flash Animation. Be sure to do so because it's extremely cool!
Also, if you would like, you can also click on the "GEEK ORTHODOX" button to visit his site & learn more about the developments of this project:
Recently a famous Hong Kong artist and designer named Dorophy Tang released a few Batman Parody illustrations that became quite popular. The "fake Batman comic book covers" were called BATBABY & they were inspired by Chinese Boy imagery combined with American Superhero iconography. So, to capitalize on the success of her art, she will be releasing this very limited 10" vinyl figure doll called "BATBABY BABY BAO". So limited in fact that only 300 will be made & the rumor is that they will retail for around $165.00 ( American Dollars ). Personally, I think it's pretty cool! It really cracks me up. The funny thing is, for this post, I was researching the "Bat-Baby Prints" & at almost the same time a reader ( named BATFAN ) sent me these photos of the doll....WOW! Now, how weird is THAT!! After such a good omen like that I knew it was going to be a good post, ha ha! Also, I hope she makes one of Robin The Boy Wonder too!! Thanks BATFAN!
Long time readers of the Bat-Blog are gonna instantly recognize the work of this graphic artist, Sean Hartter! We have featured his artwork here a few times because it's pretty clever & he has a very unique style. Here's a few examples of his work featuring one of our favorite Batman villains, THE JOKER! Oh yeah, I threw in one of BANE just for the heck of it ( because it's really cool ). Please let me know what you think about this art, just leave a comment down below. Also, I want to invite all creative Bat-Blog Readers who do Batman-inspired artwork to submit your drawings, paintings, or graphic art! Send us some e-mail ( our e-mail button is at the top right-hand side of this page ).
Our friend Chris Haley sent us this amazing portrait of Batman ( Adam West style ) he did recently & I love it. The expression on his face is pretty funny! Chris is a Graphic Designer working in Memphis, TN. If you're a fan of ART like I am then you might check out his blog sometime...good stuff! Here's a link:
