Check Out The BATMAN ART Of Arlen Schumer!

I just made a new friend the other day & his name is ARLEN SCHUMER. He is an extremely talented Graphic Artist & Illustrator, but more importantly, he's a HUGE Batman Fan! To prove it just check out the 2 pics up above. The 1st photo is a cover he drew back in 1976 for a Batman Fanzine called BATMANIA. But the funny thing is, he had done his own magazine about 6 years earlier... when he was just 12 years old ( that's the 2nd photo )! You can really see some improvement there, huh. Actually I think the 2nd one is great because, even though it's sort of crude, you can tell that a lot of love really went into it. Plus, it's pretty good for a 12 year old. It seems, that in one way or another, he has always been mixed up with the comic book style of drawing. He's done work for a large list of major clients. He just recently produced a book titled "Neal Adams, The Sketchbook" ( more on that later ). If you would like to see more modern-day examples of his work then just click HERE!

Illustration For New Batman Book Coming Out in The Older "Animated Series" Style

I came across this graphic the other day on the Internet & thought it was pretty cool. This is a penciled illustration for the cover to a new children book that will be published soon by Stone Arch Publishing. Of course it will probably be inked & colored, this is just an example of what the cover will look like. The drawing was done by Shawn McManus & the book will be written by Matthew Manning. Now, of course, the drawing-style & story will be like the 1990's Batman: The Animated Series. I thought that was kinda cool...to bring that genre back. The book's title will be "Two-Face's Double Take". Look for it later this year ( Be sure to click on the artwork up above for a larger, more detailed, version ).

COOL BATMAN, JOKER, and CATWOMAN GRAPHICS : The Art of Sean Hartter!

The Bat-Blog featured some of Sean Hartter's artwork in the past & since his work was so popular I thought I would show a few more. This guy has a really great drawing style & the pictures are also kinda fun so...here...we...GO! The 1st one sort of cracks me up, it's a really nice portrait of The Joker. I like the coloring here, a light palette. The 2nd graphic shows Batman in battle in Gotham City. Not quite sure who this villain is but he looks cool. The 3rd pic is really neat. It's the Catwoman in flight! Next, is one of my favorites. It's a small pic of the Dark Knight in sort of a very cartoony-style & kinda cute too, goo goo goo. If you would like to see more of Sean's work just click on the graphic down below. For right now the button graphic might not be showing up but it does work and is clickable. Sorry for some pics being down. Right now I am getting about 400 visitors an hour & it's crashing my bandwidth. So, some photos or pictures might be down at times. I'm working on it.

BATMAN & BATGIRL ARTWORK : Josh Hoye Illustrator

While surfing the web the other day I came across a blog for a commercial illustrator named Josh Hoye who has some considerable talent. He has a unique style & must be a big Batman fan because in his portfolio he showed a few examples of the Dark Knight. The 1st one is an idea of the "Courage Dog" cartoon character dressing up in costume like Batman. This one is my personal favorite & pretty funny. The 2nd example shows what Batman does to people who commits crime. He opens a can of whoop-ass! The 3rd picture is a graphic of Batgirl that's done in a very expressionist style. You can view more of his work at....http://jhoyeillustrations.blogspot.com/
