Later in the year we'll be seeing some brand-new BATMAN TOYS that are totally created by Mattel's in-house Design Group. What I mean by that is these toys will not be tied into any existing Movie, Animated Series, Comic Book or TV Show. This new series of figures will be totally created by Mattel. The name of this toy line is "Batman Power Attack™" and shown here are some examples of the toys and their packaging. Check out the different Batman figures, the 1st Villain issued will be Killer Croc, and a pretty cool BATMOBILE Vehicle!
DC Direct just released some promo photos of 2 brand-new Action Figures that will be a part of the BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Series. Of course we're talking about characters from the recent video game that ROCKS! Shown here are MISTER FREEZE and KILLER CROC!! On man, they look awesome, especially the one of Victor Freeze!! OK, they're both about 7 1/4" tall, will have special packaging, and go on sale around June 6th, 2012.
The other day a friend told me about a new BATMAN fan-film titled, SEEDS OF ARKHAM. To be honest I was not that excited about it as most of these movies are totally awful, ha! But, out of curiosity I checked it out & was glad I did. SEEDS OF ARKHAM is another short film created by BAT IN THE SUN Productions. This is the team that brought us CITY OF SCARS. In fact, this new movie is sort of a sequel. The costumes, set design, make-up, etc... is done extremely well. They even got a Batmobile Replica Car that not only looks great, but is a major "character" as well. The two main villains in this film are Killer Croc & Poison Ivy. Now, this company plans to make more of these episodes, let's hope they do. They started a Kickstarter page to try to raise more funds. To check it out, just click HERE!
The Bat-Blog is pretty famous for celebrating creativity, in any form, but this photo is just totally amazing! I actually love old quilts as an American art form. But this modern-day one is just really great! It's titled "ARKHAM ASYLUM". Besides Batman, Robin, & a few versions of Batgirl, we also get to enjoy many images of some major villains: Poison Ivy, Bane, the Penguin, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, and many more. Please be sure to click on the photo for a much larger picture. The details are beautiful! ( Thank you Debra for sending this pic )
OK, For "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I thought I would go with a Batman theme that celebrates ART. The 1st background was made using a drawing submitted by our friend Drew. Yes, he drew this amazing piece of art showing all our favorite Batman Villains! You got: The Joker, Catwoman, Scarecrow, Man-Bat, Two-Face, Clayface, Riddler, Poison ivy, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, & Killer Croc!! Whew, that's a lot of evil right there! Thanks to Drew for sending us this pic, he did a great job on it. The next wallpaper is a photo sent in by our friend Michael. He saw this thing in the front yard of a sculptor in California. I've featured this on the Bat-Blog before. It's sort of a famous landmark in CA. Anyways, I have always loved this piece of art, it's very clever, & I thought it would be kind of fun ( Thanks Mike ). So, there you go. Here is this week's wallpapers! Now, remember that we have hundreds more at the Bat-Blog. All ya gotta do is dig through our BAT-ARCHIVES ( which are located on the left side of this page, near the middle ) to see them all or click the button down below for the 30+ most recent.
Here's what DC Direct sort of has to say about this new product:
From Arkham Asylum to Gotham City's sewers, Killer Croc has a taste for revenge and is out for blood - Batman's blood! Bursting through a manhole, Croc is ready to wreak vengeance on the unsuspecting citizens of Gotham City. But Batman, swinging out of the shadows, is ready to stop Killer Croc in his tracks. This limited-edition, hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain statue measures approximately 16 1/2" high x 12 3/4" wide x 9 3/4" deep and "BATMAN vs. KILLER CROC" is packaged in a 4-color box with a Certificate of Authenticity. Limited Edition. Manufactured to order. * Minor assembly required. DESIGNED BY WALTER O'NEAL SCULPTED BY RAY VILLAFANE. Available on Pre-Order Sale NOW and hits actual retail on March 31, 2010.
Now, the very 1st photo is more or less the commercial photo of the product. The 2nd photo was sent in to us by a Bat-Blog Reader & it's of the actual item, at a Comic Convention Event. OK, I am kind of confused here. One shows Batman wearing the "Blue Suit" & the other looks totally "Black & Gray". What's up on that? Are there gonna be 2 different versions? I am sort of believing the 1st "product photo" has the real color because they would not represent a product in the wrong colors. Plus, at a public event they sometimes show a prototype of the merchandise ( statue or toy ) in their more raw early stages. That is, if they are not totally completed by then. But either way this thing just looks really amazing. Speaking of amazing. The other photos you see are from the Art Studio that created the piece. The statue is shown unpainted but you can still clearly see the incredible detail that went into making this sculpture ( click on the HD quality pics for HUGE clear pictures ). The reptile texture on Killer Croc is extremely cool. In fact there are many details that are hyper-realistic. Look at the concrete blocks, the manhole cover, the human skeletons ( ha ), the folds in the fabric, the bandages on Killer Croc's wrists look like real cloth, etc...it's crazy! I am totally excited about this piece. What do you think of it? Oh yeah, if you're looking for a good price on this then please click on the link button down below
Remember: Every week, on Wednesday, we post 2 Brand-New, Totally Exclusive, Batman Wallpaper Backgrounds...we called "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday"! This time I thought we would go with a BATMAN VILLAIN theme. The 1st one is a nice montage of many of the bad guys you'll see on the new episodes of BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Cartoon! There is the Joker, Penguin, Baby Face, Mad Hatter, Catwoman, Clock King, Jester, & many many more! The next wallpaper is a photo that is a close-up shot of the raw (unpainted ) prototype for the BATMAN VS. KILLER CROC Statue that will be coming out in March, 2010. It was designed by Walter O'Neal & Sculpted by Ray Villafane. The attention to detail on this thing are totally insane! Really, it's completely beautiful & you'll be blown-away when you see it. Look for a complete news story about it in tomorrow's Bat-Blog. We have some amazing photos of it to share! Well, we hope you like some of these, & if not, then be sure to check the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for much more!
Eidos Games released the brand-new BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game on August 25th & people are still going crazy! All the reports that I have been getting so far are saying that this is the BEST Batman and/or Superhero Franchise game yet!!
OK, I know that yesterday was the official launch of the brand-new BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game! But awhile back I made a promise to join-in on a special event on August 25th where 14 Comic Book Superhero Blogs teamed together to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of SUPER POWERS Toys! Maybe you noticed all the craziness yesterday, ha ha! It's still going on but I knew I had to take a little break to talk about this awesome new game! So, to honor the new bat-game I created these 2 new ARKHAM ASYLUM Desktop Backgrounds. These babies both feature one of Batman's coolest super-villains KILLER CROC ( or is his name Killercroc? )!! Either way he's very scary & I hope you enjoy them!! Also, if you would like other AA wallpapers or info just click on the word "Arkham Asylum" down below in the "Labels" area. That will pull up all the recent posts about the game. There are many more backgrounds & video to enjoy. Plus, I'll be doing more posts in the next few days so keep an eye out for those, whew!
Everybody is totally excited about the soon-to-be-released BATMAN: THE ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game that's coming out soon by Eidos so I thought I would post these 2 Free Desktop Background Wallpapers. One of them features Killer Croc in all his awesomeness & the other has a cool visual of Joker, Batman's Bat-Suit Costume in detail, & the Batmobile Car. I'm totally drooling over this game & I really hope it turns out to be great, my fingers are crossed.
Awhile back a Bat-Blog Reader named Jim sent us these cool photos of some recently acquired Batman collectibles. He said they're from the 1980's & he was happy to find them because he has never seen them before. I gotta admit that I don't remember ever seeing them either...how weird! There's four of them & each one has a different cover with another character. Familiar super-villains include The Penguin, Killer Croc, Man-Bat, & one character I have never heard of before, "World Destroyer"! Also, what is Hawkman doing making an appearance on the Man-Bat cover? Wow! Thanks Jim for sending the wonderful pictures. These have got to be extremely RARE! I want to invite all other readers with weird, unusual, Batman Memorabilia to send some pics today! Sharing fun, obscure, rare information about Batman toy collecting is the main purpose of this page!
Remember, you saw it here first! This is the 1st look at the soon-to-be-released BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT Anime Batman Film by Warner Bros. For people living under a rock & have not heard of this DC UNIVERSE Animated Movie it will come out as a DVD just before the DARK KNIGHT Motion Picture is released in Summer 2008. It's gonna feature state-of-the-art animation done by some of the most major Japanese Anime artists & directors. The story will bridge the gap between the 2 Batman movies: Batman Begins & The Dark Knight. New information, featured in this video, will be that the villians in the story will be Deadshot, Scarecrow, & Killer Croc...kick ass!
The other day a loyal reader sent me a picture of an Original Animation Cel from Batman: The Animated Series. The picture was of KILLER CROC who you don't see that often. I mean, not like the Joker or Two-Face. Anyways, it got me to thinking about what kind of toys have been made of that character so I did a little research. Here's a few examples: Mattel™ made a Hot Wheels 2-Pack with a truck that has KillerCroc graphics. I think it came out in 2002. DC Direct made a set of Mini-Mates ( sort of like Lego figures ) of a Battle-Damaged Batman & KillerCroc. Mattel has made a few action figures that are very detailed & shown in 2 different pictures here. HeroClix made a very small game piece figure of him & in the last photo you can see that Lego made a game set called "The Bat-Boat Hunt For Killer Croc #7780"...sweet! Thank you Gary for sending us that pic, it really inspired me, ha ha! We want to invite other readers to do the same or just tell us what kinda toys you would like to see.
Remember awhile back I posted a photo of a Batman Action Figure that someone had made out of construction paper? Well, he sent us some more cool pics to share! Here he's done a few different Batman-related characters. In the 1st one is the Dynamic Duo, BATMAN and ROBIN!! The 2nd photo shows a paper-model figure of KILLER CROCK, aaarrrgggg! The last photo shows a group of figures & if you look closely there's the JOKER and HARLEY QUINN. I don't know why but I think these are really cool. The colors are bright, that might be it, but they really really do look like the characters they're suppose to be...that's cool! If any other readers are doing any kind of "Custom Toys" then please send pics. It can be Dolls, Batman Model Kits, Batmobiles, Whatever!
