BATMAN'S BAT-VEHICLE-MANIA!

Next up is an extremely RARE 1960's Japanese Tin Toy Airplane BAT-JET owned by our buddy Bat-Cat in Thailand. This guy has some incredible "Museum Quality" type stuff. I totally love the Vintage Graphics on this thing!!

The Ford Mustang "Custom Batmobile" is a photo shared by a friend on Facebook. I don't care WHO you are, you gotta admit that it's a beautiful Masterpiece of ART, ha!

The last photo is kinda fun and goes back to the "Toys Theme". Here's a totally brand-new product that's just come out. This is the Dark Knight BAT-POD Motorcycle Plastic Model Kit by Moebius Models. I have not built a kit in many many years but this one is tempting me, ha!

BATMAN ROBIN and BATGIRL Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday, on Thursday!

I know yesterday was Wednesday and some Bat-Blog Fans look forward to their weekly fix of BATMAN Wallpaper Backgrounds that we post, but we announced the death of the Golden Age Comic Book Artist Lew Sayre Schwartz and it just didn't seem respectful to post anything else. So, here they are now. The 1st one was made using graphics of the box lid for the New 1966 BAT-BOAT Model Kit made by Polar Lights. I like this groovy image, ha! The next one uses a nice picture of Batgirl on her Bat-Cycle that was originally a Warner Bros Store Framed Lithograph. I remember this picture fondly. We used to have a WB Store here where I lived and I really really wanted this piece. They also made a few other in this series & they were all great. I totally loved that store because they had such awesome stuff! Sadly, they closed and I never got the chance to buy any of these prints.

BATMAN AND ROBIN WALLPAPERS - 1966 Coloring Book Graphics!

These 2 Bat-Wallpapers were made using graphics from some older Vintage 1966 Batman Coloring Books that some long-time Batman Collectors might recognize! The one showing Robin, in the Bat-Cave using the Bat-Computer, is my top favorite. Wait! The one with the Dynamic Duo aboard the Bat-Boat is my favorite... OK, I can't decide, they're BOTH cool, ha ha!

BATMAN COMIC BOOK GRAPHICS Wallpaper Backgrounds

Today I am feeling totally exhausted, I got NO sleep last night, so this is going to be a very lazy posting, ha ha! I decided to post a few BATMAN WALLPAPERS you can use to brighten your desktop's background. But before you hate me, they're pretty cool and I think/hope you'll like them! The 1st one uses some graphics you can see on the new 1966 Bat-Boat Model kit by Polar Lights. It's sort of retro-looking, so that's neat. The next one is kinda weird. It's a wood grain background with some hi-res scan of some 1960's comic book art drawn by Carmine Infantino, a Bat-Fan favorite!

ADAM WEST BATMAN 1966 BATMOBILE & BAT-BOAT Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

Today I have a special treat for fans of the Bat-Blog's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday". I knew I was going to be posting this amazing photograph showing Adam West polishing the 1966 Batmobile car. So, I thought I'd make another background with the '66 BATMAN Movie Bat-Boat so that, then, we would be featuring 2 classic bat-vehicles! Please let me know what you think about them. Oh yeah, the photo of Adam West, cleaning "his car", is from a recent TV Commercial shoot. Now I'm not allowed to say what the advertising is for, but everybody is going to totally love it when it comes out!

New HOT WHEELS BATMOBILE Cars & IMAGINEXT BATMAN Action Figures From Mattel for 2011

OK, Here's some more fresh news from Mattel that was presented at this year's 2010 San Diego Comic Con & I'm sort of reporting on 2 different toy lines here, Hot Wheels & Imaginext Action Figures. The 1st photo shows a few new HOT WHEELS Batmobile cars to keep an eye out for ( But don't start camping out at Toys-R-Us tonight because these won't come out for a while - just stay tuned to the Bat-Blog because you know that when they come out we will be spazzing-out, ha!). It looks like they'll have some interesting new Batmobiles in 2 different series. One is the "Custom Motors" line & the other one is the "Color Shifters". The Custom Motors car is the Tumbler Batmobile from The Dark Knight movie & it looks like you'll be able to customize it like a model kit or something. I don't think I have ever seen this toy line before & it looks pretty interesting. Now the next one is the Color Shifters car & it looks like the Batmobile from the 1989 BATMAN movie, awesome! I've seen these before & they're kinda neat. They have special paint that changes color when you put them in hot water. This one has "flames" on the hood. Now the next major toy line covered here is the IMAGINEXT Action Figures, Vehicles, & Accessories. I know these are made for small children ( which is great ) but I gotta admit that I totally love these! The main 2 things to share here is the Batman figure with his Bat-Boat & Killer Kroc with his Swamp Boat. Plus, if you look at the picture with the Batboat, you'll also see the Riddler with his Riddler Car...awesome!

New BATMAN HOT WHEELS Vehicles & Batmobile Cars For 2010!!

For the last year or so I have been totally & completely loving the incredible 1:50 Scale Die-Cast Batman Vehicles & Batmobiles that Mattel has been coming out with. Here are some photos from the Official Hot Wheels Collector website of a few cars to keep an eye out for in 2010. The 1st photo is probably the weirdest one, but it's also a Classic Car that many Bat-Fans are gonna really love. It's the "Penguinmobile" from the 1966 TV Show! The next one, of course, is the Batcycle from the 1997 movie. In fact, all the rest shown are from various Batman movies. The 3rd one is the famous Bat-Missile from 1992's "Batman Returns". The 4th one is the "Cocoon Batmobile" from 1989. The 5th Car is from 1997's "Batman & Robin" & then there is the one from "Batman Forever". The last pic shows the Bat-Boat!!

Glastron 1966 BAT-BOAT: Vintage Newspaper Clippings

Here are 2 very cool pieces of Batman History I discovered lately on the 1966 Batman Message Board. They are both vintage newspaper clippings from the 1960's talking about the Glastron Boat Company & the world famous BAT-BOAT they made for the 1966 Batman TV Show Movie. These are kinda neat to see after all these years, a rare find! ( Sorry, the 1st one is kinda hard to read ).

Original BAT-BOAT BLUEPRINT From The 1966 Batman TV Show & Movie

Shown here, in all their glory, are some RARE photos of the Original Blueprint for the 1966 Bat-Boat from the 1966 Batman Movie. It was auctioned-off on eBay recently ( Sold: $350 ) & whoever won it now has an authentic piece of Bat-History! The Batboat was created by The Glastron Boat Company & these were the original drawings by their designer. The auction also had some blueprints for the "Penguin Submarine Ship" used in the movie but were not shown so I didn't get any pics of that. If anyone did then please send them to us. Now, to kind of change the subject, if you're a big fan of the 1966 Bat-Boat then you really need to visit my friend Darren's website. It's a personal blog all about him totally restoring an original '66 Bat-Boat. He seriously gets into talking about Vintage Upholstery Fabrics, Paint Chips, Fiberglass, etc...Plus a lot of history about the famous Bat-Vehicle. You can check out his site by clicking HERE!

VINTAGE BATMAN TOYS: Johnny Lightning DC Comic Book 1960's Diecast 1/24 Batmobile Model Kits

I thought, for this post, we would revisit a cool Batman Toy from the recent past. In 2002 a toy company called "Johnny Lightning" was making a few Batman-related items that were extremely cool! Now, they made some diecast toys of the Batmobile vehicles of course but they also made these small 1:24 scale metal "screw-together" Model Kits. There were 4 in the complete set: The 1960's Batmobile Car, The 1950's Batmobile, The 60's Batboat, & my favorite, the Bat-Gyro! I remember when these came out & I thought it was so cool that they did such an obscure vehicle as the Bat-Gyro, ha ha! I mean, you never NEVER see this being made! Now another weird thing too was that these were kinda hard to find. I never really saw them much in the usual retail stores like Target & Wal-Mart but you could always find them at Hobby Specialist shops. I guess because they were more like model kits & not actual toy cars. But anyway, they're just great. Now for reference photos I could only find 3 of the original boxes, & I'm missing the one for the Bat-Gyro, but you get the idea. Plus, all 4 vehicles are shown here & you can see their TOTAL beauty.

THE 1966 BAT-BOAT!! Batman Vehicle - Desktop Wallpaper Background

I thought this image would make an extremely cool Desktop Wallpaper! So, please be sure to check it out. It's the Classic Bat-Boat from the 1966 Batman Movie & TV Series. Here's what Wikipedia had to say about it:
"The first appearance of the BAT-BOAT was in the 1966 film BATMAN. It was subsequently used in the 1960's BATMAN TV Series.
It was created by Glastron Industries.
Mel Whitley and Robert Hammond designed the Batboat from a Glastron V-174. They added a red flashing beacon, glowing eyes, batzooka hatches, seats for both Batman and Robin at the front of the boat, twin wind screens, a center console, an outdrive jet cover, and an aft to deck cover with a glowing Bat-Signal on the tail fin. Although the boat was powered by a Merc Cruiser Chevrolet V-6 and Attwood Corporation manufactured the hardwire, a water squirter and a jet nozzle were added to make the Batboat look like it was nuclear-powered. It took 31 days to build.
Eventually, a replica was built of the Batboat. When the Batman television show was cancelled, Glastron used the two Batboats for promotions on tours. After much touring, the boats were sold. One boat went to a Glastron dealer who was a Shriner. He used it in various Shriner parades. This Batboat was then moved to the Car Stars museum in Gatlinburg, Tennesee."
