I totally love when Batman Fans get really creative & this is also a wonderful news story. This photo is from our friend Chris, who lives in Southern Illinois. To be exact, he lives in Anna, Illinois & every year ( around October 1st ) they have what they call "Pumpkin Town U.S.A." which is exhibited for a week around the city.The theme changes and this year it is "Heroes and Villians".The local High School chose Batman and this bale of hay is the basis for their display. Chris said they are working on other artworks which will feature Batman, Robin, The Joker & even the Scarecrow! This sounds extremely cool and we really look forward to seeing those as well ( Thanks Chris! ).

New BATMAN - THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Merchandise Products

Alright, I thought I'd share some news on a few brand-new unusual BATMAN: THE BRAVE & THE BOLD products that are out there now. The 1st one is an EASTER EGG DECORATING KIT that was sold at Toys-R-Us. Now, how did this piece of merchandise get by me? I never knew they made it until later. I'm not sure if they're still out there ( maybe on clearance? ) but I hope they release them again next year. It's not really a big deal but the graphics are kinda cool. Now speaking of graphics, the next product is loaded with great images from the TV cartoon! It's a "Provo Craft Cricut Batman Activity Shape Cartridge". This cartridge contains images of Batman, Green Arrow, the Blue Beetle, Aquaman, Red Tornado, and The Joker, along with an action-style font that would be ideal for your child's room, homemade comics, or scrapbook pages. You can also cut out an exciting assortment of party supplies, such as costume pieces, party favors, gift boxes, cards, envelopes, and 3D gadgets that will make your birthday kid feel like a Hero. I gotta say that I totally love those 2 Batman & Joker Paper Toy Figures in the pic, they're very cool! But I don't think I'll be buying this because to use the cartridge ( which is around 50 bucks ) you gotta have a special Cricut Machine. It's basically a "printer & shape-cutter" all built into one. They have different models & the cheapest one is around $120.00. Now on eBay you can buy a used one for around 60 dollars, but the whole package is sort of too expensive for me. But if you're an Arts & Crafts person who already has this machine then the cartridge is pretty cool. I've supplied a link down below for where to buy one.

Batman Christmas Holiday Decorating Idea # 1

It seems our friends Dallas & Daria are really getting into the Holiday Spirit this year! They decorated a few Batman, Joker, & Catwoman Statues with Christmas wreaths. The funny thing is the expression on Batman's face makes him look like he's not too happy with the whole idea, ha ha! But, overall, the 3 busts look pretty cool & I thought the picture would make a great Christmas Card image ( Thanks to Dallas for sending us the funny pic ).

Video: SANTA CLAUS Appears on 1966 BATMAN TV Show - Merry Christmas!

The Bat-Blog wishes everybody a HAPPY HOLIDAY! Old Saint Nick himself made an appearance on the 1966 Batman TV series on December 22, 1966 in an episode titled "The Duo is slumming". It was one of those "special guest" moments where, while Batman & Robin are climbing up the side of a building, a person pops their head out the window. Santa Claus was played by the wonderful character Actor Andy Devine ( Thanks Jackie! ).

OK, It seems that this year everybody is going totally wacky over Halloween! Here at the Bat-Blog we have been getting a lot of photos, both new & vintage, where people have been showing us their Batman-related costumes. That has been really wonderful ( thanks again everybody & keep them coming ). Also, since the actual holiday is getting closer, we are starting to get pictures of Batman Jack O' Lantern Pumpkins, that's great too! But THIS photo was really kind of a surprise. A good friend to the Bat-Blog, nicknamed "BatmiteReturns", send us this funny photo of a set of Batman & Robin Scarecrows he recently saw. He wrote,

My family and I went to a pumpkin patch over the weekend and inside was a real life Batman & Robin scarecrow. I've never seen anything like it before. Of course I had to snap a picture of it!

Later he added how shocked he was to see it at such an unusual place & he made the observation that there was sort of a big irony here because "The Scarecrow persona" is also an evil villain in the Batman Universe. I thought the same thing, ha ha! But I wanna thank him for sending the photo, it's great! I think they actually did a pretty good job on it. For everybody else, if you have ANY Batman Halloween pictures to share then please do. Let's make this year's holiday a total event!

BATMAN & BATMOBILE Holiday Desktop Wallpapers - Merry Christmas!

Since today is "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" & tonight is Christmas Eve I thought I would post a few that are holiday themed. The 1st one is actually a photo sent in to us from a reader named Iris who is from Germany. She has a cool collection of standees in her hallway & decorated them this year for Christmas with Santa Claus hats! I thought this photo was pretty funny & the idea is also very clever. The 2nd one is a now-famous graphic of the 1966 Batman TV Show Batmobile Car. It's sort of a parody of this classic Christmas song, "Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg, THE BATMOBILE LOST IT'S WHEEL, & the Joker got away...HEY!". Everyone here at the Bat-Blog wants to wish everyone in the whole wide world a very very MERRY CHRISTMAS & a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

BATMAN as SANTA CLAUS Holiday Christmas Graphics

A friend to the Bat-Blog sent these very cool "Batman as Santa Claus" xmas pictures he wanted to share ( Thanks Kevin ). He explains that he "loves both Batman & Christmas" and that he got these images in a portfolio of Bruce Timm's artwork. Timm, of course, was the director & designer for Batman: The Animated Series. That's why these graphics have a "cartoon look" about them...they're AWESOME!

OK, this year I'm not really in the holiday spirit just yet but I know a lot of Bat-Fans probably are by now so I thought I would post this awesome BATMAN XMAS Desktop Background that was sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader. His name is Andrew & I really appreciate the effort he put into this cool wallpaper picture, it's an ART masterpiece! It uses some vintage-style graphics by Sheldon Moldoff...MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!! ( OK, I'm in the holiday spirit now, ha ha! ).

BATMAN HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN The Dark Knight Joker Movie Poster

We all remember the now classic "Teaser Promo" Movie Poster from The Dark Knight that was a brick wall with graffiti of 2 dark circles for Joker's eyes & a red Bat-Symbol for the mouth. It made a crazy "Joker Face" that let us all know The Joker was coming soon & it also gave a hint that something terrible was gonna happen to Batman ( the "red mouth" looked kinda bloody because the spray paint was running a little bit ). Well, a friend named Paul, who's an avid reader of the Bat-Blog, decided that this was the image he was gonna use for a Jack O'Lantern Halloween Pumpkin this year. So, here's what he made! He drew the design on with some sharpies & then carved a beautiful piece of ART! The finished pumpkin looks great. Thanks Paul for sharing these photos...and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

She carved "I Love Batman" on the side & the great thing is she used the vintage 1970's style logo...I love it! Jessica, you did a great job on this & thanks for sending the cool pic! The photo of this super-excellent Jack O'Lantern design was so BIG I decided to make it a Desktop Wallpaper you can use as a background in a MySpace layout or just to decorate your computer's desktop for the holidays...BATTY HALLOWEEN!! OK, in the United States we have a stupid holiday ( created by the candy & floral companies ) called Valentine's Day, ha ha! I know, I sound bitter, I'm not. Actually, I have a wonderful person in my life & I think she's great. We'll have a special dinner tonight & I'm thankful for that. I just hate how commercialized everything is here in the USA. I know it sounds cynical but it's true. If I see another Zales Jewelry Store "Heart-Shaped Pendant" TV Commercial I'm gonna throw-up! I do, however, have some sentimental feelings about Valentine's Day. One of them is the cool themed-greeting cards we gave out in school when we were little kids. These have been a tradition for a very long time & I could almost see myself collecting them because the vintage ones are really cool. The graphics are some of my favorites. Check out the ones here with Batman & Catwoman...sweet! So, don't let the commercials wear you down & please remember to call your Mother & wish her a Happy Valentines Day.
