Mark Romanoski's JOKER BATMAN Norman Rockwell Parody Art

OK, I was surfing the web the other night and came across this wonderful painting by an Artist named Mark Romanoski. It features the JOKER and also have a few "Batman" elements. Now, most readers will recognize that this as a parody of a very famous Norman Rockwell Painting. It's extremely iconic and I think it was titled "Triple Self Portrait" or something like that. I've always loved it. Anyways, Mark Romanoski, did an amazing job. The Joker looks great & the humor of the piece is sort of creepy.

BATMAN AND ROBIN - Huge Graffiti Art Wall Mural Celebrates 70 Years Together!

OK, I'm not exactly sure where this BATMAN AND ROBIN Wall Mural is, I'm thinking maybe Argentina, but it's AWESOME! It looks like it was done on the side of an Old Barn & it's HUGE! It sort of makes a statement about how "Batman and Robin" have been Crime-Fighting Partners, for over 70 years! Ha Ha Ha! I love this thing! Have you seen any cool Graffiti Art celebrating the Dark Knight? If so, please send us some pics & also let us know where you saw it.

BATMAN Plus FINE ART Equals COOL!

OK, I like BATMAN and I love FINE ART so when Artists combine them I'm always in awe. Here are three "Batman-Inspired" photos to share. The 1st one is a High Couture Dress made in Japan. It's so freakin' AWESOME that even I would wear it! As a side note: I have never ever worn ladies things before, ever, I swear! Next up is a fun parody photo showing the Surrealist Artist Salvador Dali dressed as Adam West's Batman ( He would have made a totally great Villain on that TV Show, ha! ). Last, but not least, is this very interesting BATMAN Poster I came across on the web awhile back that has a great "vintage look" about it. It's very well done in a cool Bauhaus-Style, or is it Russian Constructivism? I always get those two confused.

NEW BATMAN FINE ART PRINT - Tribute To Dick Sprang & Carmine Infantino

Awhile back, right here on the Bat-Blog, we featured some amazing artwork by an Artist named Christopher Franchi. He did this piece that combined a classic iconic image of Batman and Robin, by Carmine Infantino, & he recreated it in the drawing style of Golden Age Comic Book Artist Dick Sprang. I mean, if you're familiar with both of these Artists you can see the combination and it's an extremely awesome image. Well, Chris got it licensed by DC Comics & now it's a Limited Edition Fine Art Print ( only 75 will be made, so, very limited ). It's pretty BIG, measuring about 24" X 36" and is printed on a sturdy, high quality, card stock. It is also signed by the Artist. The thing is, it's now on eBay & I wanted to share this with my Readers because I know a lot of people will want one! For more information, just CLICK HERE!

Jim's BATMAN THE MOVIE ART PRINT of CATWOMAN - Lee Merriwether

Here is a nice set of pictures sent in by Jim, a major Batman Fan. It's a Fine Art Print he received as a gift from a friend. It's a pencil drawing of CATWOMAN as she appeared in BATMAN THE MOVIE. Yes, the artwork is extremely beautiful, the face is a great likeness, but the neat thing is that it is signed by both Ms. Lee Merriwether and the artist, Greg Land. It's also #32 out of 100. I wanna thank Jim for allowing me to post these pics of this wonderful piece of art. I really love it, it's very very cool!

FAT BATMAN - The Art of Francesco De Molfetta

Right now there's an Art Show titled "New Idols" at the Don Gallery in Milano, Italy. The show features 1980's Pop Icon Sculptures by Francesco De Molfetta. He's done a few that are a parody of E.T., Transformers, Barbie Doll, Superman, etc... Most of them are sort of political & all of them have a lot of humor. This is the one he did of Batman, or I should say, "Fatman", ha! For more info on the event, click HERE!

On April 17th the Bat-Blog introduced you to an artist named MAX who lives in Bretagne, France. He's the guy who created & sculpted that "Life-Size Heath Ledger JOKER" Statue Bust. I'm showing it in the very 1st photo to jog your memory but the post is mainly about this other piece, The Batman! YES! Max has done another one & this one is Batman ( The Dark Knight movie version ) & it's just as incredible! Just check out the photos. This artist's work is totally insane! THE DARK KNIGHT Heath Ledger JOKER BUST Art Statue

I met an artist named MAX on MySpace who lives in Bretagne, France. The guy is only 25 years old but man does he have major talent! He created & sculpted this "Life-Size Heath Ledger JOKER" Statue Bust & it looks incredibly realistic! I mean, the attention to details is totally insane! Just check out the photos & you'll see what I mean. The costume clothing is made out of real cloth for extra reality. The face looks EXACTLY like Heath Ledger from The Dark Knight Batman movie & it's sort of creepy, of course I mean that in a good way. It just shows how talented he is. I plan to post some more of Max's sculptures in the future so keep an eye out for those. In the mean time just have fun drooling over these pictures, ha ha! ( Thanks for allowing me to post the pics MAX, You Rock! ).

BATMAN-Themed POP ART PAINTINGS By J.R. Williams

Over at my Facebook account I have a friend named J.R. Williams. Recently he loaded a few pictures in his gallery showing some recent artwork he did for an art show. Two of them were "Batman-related" so I thought I would share them here. They look like paintings done in watercolor. The coloring is done very well. I know Bat-Blog Readers will love them because they feature Batman! I really really like these & every time I see them I totally crack-up, they're hilarious! ( Oh yeah, since I mentioned Facebook I gotta ask that if you're a member there then please send me a friend request. My "Facebook Button" is located on the top right-hand side of this age ).

BATMAN & ROBIN ART Cubist Paintings by Tommervik

WOW! There's some Batman-inspired artwork on eBay right now that I am totally loving! The artist's name is TOMMERVIK & his work is amazing! He does oil paintings of Batman and Robin in a cubist style & the color palette is completely beautiful. He also sells older pieces as a Giclee Art Print ( "Robin" example shown at bottom ). The "giclee" process is basically an art print made with an extremely high-end printer, very nice quality. Personally I would prefer the actual paintings...they're GREAT!

Batman Fine Art Painting Found in Bulgarian Restaurant!

A good friend named Zdravko, who lives in Bulgaria, sent me this photo of a Batman-themed Painting he saw while dining at a local cafe. He said he was spending quality time with his Sister, having a drink, when all of a sudden they noticed this piece of art on the wall had Batman in it, how funny! The painting looks pretty cool & is done in the famous abstract style of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Readers, if you're unfamiliar with Basquiat's artwork do yourself a favor & Google it because it's some really great stuff! Anyway, it's kinda easy to see that this artist was really inspired by Batman & overall the painting is extremely excellent! Thank you Z for sending the cool pic to share, I appreciate that alot. It's really neat that Batman is super-popular in Bulgaria!

A good friend to the Bat-Blog, known as "The BAT-FAN", recently sent us a few photos of some of his incredible Batman Art Collection. In fact, there were so many that I had to break them up a little bit & will feature more in the near future. The artwork you see here are watercolors all done by Joe Pekar. He commissioned the artist to custom-make these just for him. The Superhero Characters include: Batgirl, Batman, Robin, & The Huntress. As you can see they are truly beautiful. THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS Batman-Themed Art Show at PLAN 9 TATTOO and ART GALLERY

This Saturday, July 19th, around 7:00pm at the PLAN 9 TATTOO and ART GALLERY there will be a special Batman-themed art show titled "THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS". The Plan9 Art Gallery is located in Meriden, CT. The address is 351 W. Main Street. Basically they have gathered many different artist's original art work, from all over the US, to celebrate the new film. It sounds like quite an event & I'm just a little upset that it's too far away for me to attend, ha ha! Sounds like a good time. Shown here is just a small amount of the artwork available. The quality & diversity of fine art they'll be showing, all of it Batman or Joker related, should be pretty cool to see. I thought I would send a shout out to my readers who live near there & let you know about it...if you go, please tell them that the Bat-Blog sent ya! Oh yeah, for more information visit their website:

Artist Mike Hill's Tribute To Heath Ledger..."The Dark Knight Joker" Sculpture

I'm a HUGE Art Fan & read tons of art books & magazines, I'm an art museum member, go to many local art events/shows, etc...So, when I see quality, I know it! I don't mean for that to sound arrogant or anything, ha ha! I'm just trying to make a statement that I know ART really really well. Yesterday, while surfing the net, I discovered an artist named Mike Hill. His art work is amazing! No, it's insane!! Mike is an extremely super-talented sculptor & when you look at the faces of his art pieces you know EXACTLY who that person is. If it's Christopher Reeve as Superman it doesn't look like some generic Superman, the face looks exactly like Mr. Reeve & nobody has to tell you it's him. In fact you might think you're looking at a perfect photograph of the actual person. I mean this as a compliment to the artist but it's almost kinda creepy, ha ha! It's creepy how extremely hyper-realistic his art is & that's very hard to do. The photos up above should prove my point. Please take a moment to look at the 1st photo on the left. If I didn't tell you who it was, & especially if there wasn't a "Dark Knight Joker picture" right next to it, you would instantly know that it's Heath Ledger's face. Look at the eyes, mouth, nose...oh my god, it's Heath! He not only captures the basic "look" of the person but it even has some of their charm & personality....creepy! OK, I don't want this post to go on forever & ever because I'm kinda boring, ha ha, but after checking out the Bat-Blog please visit this artist's website. The piece up above is meant to be a tribute to Heath Ledger & if you think that's amazing you'll love the rest of his stuff, enjoy. Oh yeah, one last thing, please bookmark this blog before you go & be sure to tell all your friends about it!

A. K. A. Gallery ( Oklahoma City, OK ) Presents Colleen Cunningham, a Batman Inspired Artist

On February 1st ( 6:00 pm to 9:00 ), in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the A. K. A. Gallery will have an opening reception for an artist named Colleen Cunningham. This artist uses a technique known as collage where she pieces together art prints that are very surreal & heavily influenced by pop culture. From her current work it seems her main inspiration is Batman! Up above are just a few examples. It looks like she has appropriated Batman, Robin, & Catwoman. She has some other works with Marvel Superheros too. I would like to invite our readers in this area to come check it out. The gallery is located at 3001 Paseo in the Paseo Arts District. Readers outside the state ( or the USA ) can visit the A. K.A. Gallery MySpace page where you can see a small sample of work. I've added a link button down below, if you're interested. Oh yeah, as a personal note, the artwork with Batman is my favorite, ha ha! Please let me know which one you like the best by commenting down below, thanks.

Fine Art: BATMAN AND ROBIN Pop Art Painting By Ron English!

In 2 previous posts ( Check the Bat-Blog Archives, on lower left-side of page ) I showed a few examples of art paintings done by one of my favorite modern-day pop artists, Ron English. Well, here's another example: It's Batman & Robin as little kids, ha ha! A famous thing that Ron English does is uses his own children to model for him. He dresses them up like Batman, Robin, clowns, cowboys, & even the rock band KISS. He takes some photos & then uses them for reference in his paintings, great stuff!! Please indulge me sometime & check out his website. There's some really great artwork to enjoy, you'll be glad you did!

BATMAN Represented in The World of Fine Art, HA HA!

On a personal note I'm a HUGE fan of ART. I go to art galleries & museums, a lot! I read a ton of art magazines & books too. I've been this weird my whole life. So, when I see art prints or paintings that have used Batman in some way it's kind of a thrill. Here's a few I have seen recently. The 1st photo is of an art print by Paul Slater. It's titled AMERICAN GOTHAM & it totally cracks me up every time I see it, ha ha! Paul Slater is one of Britain's most popular illustrators. He has a huge client list & is represented by The Cutter Gallery. If you think you might wanna own an actual art print of this image then visit their website where they sell high-quality prints. http://www.cuttergallery.com

This next "Batman" Piece of Art is something I came across on the internet the other day. It's a wood-relief painting that is sort-of like a sculpture in the fact that it has a 3-D quality about it. It's made to look like Egyptian Hieroglyphics from a long time ago but appropriates the Batman character's image....hilarious! Please be sure to click on this to see a slightly larger picture. The fine details to his woodwork are amazing! If you would like to see more of his art then look for a guy named "Gian-Boy" on Flickr. I'd like to give more info about this artist but all of his writing is in Italian, ha ha!

Fine Art: BATMAN AND ROBIN Pop Painting By Ron English!

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a HUGE Fan of Fine Art, or any kind of art really! One of my favorite "Modern Day" Pop Artists is a guy named Ron English. He uses a lot of Pop Culture references in his work & sometimes he's very political. He's becoming quite popular so many readers might already know about him, great stuff!! Here's one of his Pop Art paintings showing a middle-aged Batman & pre-adolescent Robin. ( Robin is smoking, ha ). Every time I see this painting it cracks me up, Ha Ha! Plus, it's a well-executed piece of ART. If you'd like to see more work by this guy be sure to check out his website:
