THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - New Batman Movie Advertising Around The Globe!!

OK, as a Major Batman Fan I totally love to see how popular the "Caped Crusader" is all over the world. I think it's really cool & I love the fact that many people all over the globe get to enjoy the character too! Here are some wonderful examples sent in to us from fans.

The 1st pic is all the way from Denmark and shows an incredible piece of advertising for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES movie. Look how HUGE that banner is, very cool! Plus, they made it look like there is a "giant hole" in the building, ha! ( Thanks Erik )

Next-up is a "Facebook Cover Photo" advertising THE DARK KNIGHT RISES but both the language & font is Greek. Our friend Marcio, who lives in Athens, Greece, gave this to us. It's so cool! ( Thanks Marcio ).

Then, last but not least, is a really great example of a "Foreign Batman Movie Poster". It is all in Bulgarian & was mentioned to us by our good friend Zdravko who lives in Bulgaria. He's ultra-excited about seeing this new film. ( Thanks Z! )

SUPER-RARE Foreign BATMAN Memorabilia From Around The Globe!

One thing I truly love about doing the Bat-Blog is getting to connect with Batman Fans from all over the world. Here's a nice assortment of photos of Super-RARE Batman items seen in foreign countries. The 1st photo was sent in by a good friend named Saul, who actually lives in Chicago ( ha ha ), but this unusual Batman Comic Book ©1944 is from Brazil. I love the wacky foreign language on the cover! Now of course I don't mean to insult Brazilians here! It's just that the words used are so unfamiliar to me, that's all. It's really a beautiful item. Plus, it's just totally extremely RARE beyond belief! The 2nd piece of memorabilia is also pretty RARE. It's a huge Store Display Sign for Blendy Coffee. It's from Japan where they sell coffee beverages in a can! It's from ©1993 & I totally love the artwork they used, very cool! The last item is a little more current, but also pretty interesting. This photo was shot by my good friend Zdravko, who lives in Bulgaria. In his country they promoted "The Dark Knight" movie with Nestle Cereal. He actually shot this pic in the grocery store & besides the cool boxes you can also see the "store display banner" that existed on the lower edge of the store shelf...very cool! I wanna thank all my friends who sent these photos, they're all really wonderful. I also wanna invite every single reader, no matter where you live, to please send us photos of your rare & unusual bat-items, both old & new. Thanks.

Batman Fine Art Painting Found in Bulgarian Restaurant!

A good friend named Zdravko, who lives in Bulgaria, sent me this photo of a Batman-themed Painting he saw while dining at a local cafe. He said he was spending quality time with his Sister, having a drink, when all of a sudden they noticed this piece of art on the wall had Batman in it, how funny! The painting looks pretty cool & is done in the famous abstract style of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Readers, if you're unfamiliar with Basquiat's artwork do yourself a favor & Google it because it's some really great stuff! Anyway, it's kinda easy to see that this artist was really inspired by Batman & overall the painting is extremely excellent! Thank you Z for sending the cool pic to share, I appreciate that alot. It's really neat that Batman is super-popular in Bulgaria!

Batman Memorabilia From Around The World

OK, anybody who has been reading the Bat-Blog for awhile knows that I am a pretty serious Batman toy collector & one of my favorite things to collect is the "wacky foreign items". So, this post shows a few Batman items from around the globe. The 1st item is a photo sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader who lives near France. This is a set of THE BATMAN Playing Cards made during the time of the TV cartoon series. I really love the cool graphics ( Thanks Andrew for sending this, it's awesome! ). The 2nd pic is something that is in stores right now! In Malaysia, a bath products company that I think is called "Eskulin", is making Batman Talcum Powder, Shower Gel, & Shampoo plus Conditioner. Most Bat-Fans might recognize Jim Lee's artwork on those, very cool! Another item that is out right now, in Argentina & Brazil, is this box of Batman Band-Aids, ha ha! I love the graphics on this packaging too, especially the side with the Joker. The last item is a Nestle Zucosos Cereal Box that was sold in Bulgaria to promote the Dark Knight Batman movie ( I don't think these are available any more ). Anyway, as you can see these are all really wonderful "foreign items" that you can't get here in the United States. Their rariety & wackiness is one reason I really love this kind of stuff. Hope you do too! If you happen to live in another country beside the US then please report to me about Batman goodies in your area. Sharing the love of the character & the joy of collecting is what this blog is ALL about!

The Dark Knight Bootleg Merchandise Spotted!

Our friend Zdravko has found what could be the very 1st "Bootleg Batman Item" from the new movie. He lives in Bulgaria & found this while shopping for school supplies. He said it was "Made in China", that's funny! It actually looks like a real product, that's kinda scary!

Batman Toy Collector Shares Some Some Cool Photos!!

Here at the Bat-Blog we have a friend named Zdravko who's a Batman Toy Collector that lives in Bulgaria. Yeah, Bulgaria! One of the things I love about doing this blog is getting to meet people from all over the world. Zdravko is a really nice guy & it's cool that he likes The Dark Knight & Batman Collectors RULE! Anyway, he sent some new photos of his current collection on display. He's got some really neat stuff. ( Be sure to click on them for larger, more detailed, shots ). I also like how it's displayed. What you see here is mostly items he just found recently. He's got way more stuff than this, believe me! I especially like the 4 Batman PEZ dispensers because of their "foreign packaging". But everything here is really great, check it out! Oh, one last thing, if you, the readers, have any photos of your personal collection that you would like to share then please send them in. The main focus of this blog is all about the joys of collecting Batman!

Nestle THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Cereal Boxes

Our friend Zdravko took some really great photos showing the 2 Batman Cereal Boxes in Bulgaria! Of course this was for the recent THE DARK KNIGHT movie promotion. The 1st picture is an advertisement out of some magazine, very cool! The next 3 photos show the actual cereal boxes with 1 pic showing the back. There were 4 premiums there that are all different than the American ones, especially the Scarecrow figure! Be sure to check out Zdravko's website for other foreign goodies.

The Dark Knight HEATH LEDGER / JOKER FAN in Bulgaria!!

The other day I received an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader in Bulgaria! His name is Victor & he did this amazing Heath Ledger Joker make-up for when he went to go see The Dark Knight Batman movie. The funny thing about his e-mail is the way he assured me that the "blood" on the knife was really red paint he put on there. OK, Victor, I don't think you are really a murderer, ha ha ha! Thanks for sending this awesome photo & you did a really great job on the costume...an AWESOME JOB!

THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Fan in Bulgaria Dresses Up as the Joker for Movie Premiere

Here's a set of really fun photos sent in to us from our good friend Zdravko, who lives in Bulgaria. He dressed up as The Joker for The Dark Knight movie. He wrote, "Here are some pictures of me as the Joker at the TDK Premiere in my home town. The costume is made completely with clothes found at home. I didn't have money to buy stuff just for the movie plus I was sick until the day of the premiere, so it was a bit rushed. I was handing out Joker cards to people in the cinema and at the ticket booth I left a card on the back of which I had written my blog's address in red. I also had 2 white balloons. One of them had a Joker face and the other had "Why So Serious" and multiple "HA-HAs". The act won me a giant TDK Cardboard standee :) My brother, sister and cousin were also with me. They all wore Batman T-Shirts and my brother and sister also wore hats. My brother also wore the Batman Begins Gauntlet on his hand." Wow, thanks Zdravko. Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time, that's awesome! Thanks for sharing your story & sending the photos, I appreciate that. Your Joker make-up & costume looks really good! Readers, Zdravko writes his own blog about Batman called "The Realm of The Bat", here's a link:

Thirsty? Try Some BATMAN BEVERAGES!

As Batman Collectors we all know how the marketing people go crazy making every kind of Batman product they can & thank God because it gives us some cool stuff to collect, ha ha! Well, here's a few examples of "Batman Beverages" through out history: The 1st photo is one of my favorites. It's a can of Batman Sparkling Soda from the Cott-Cola Company ©1960's & as you can imagine it is quite RARE! The next example is newer but still extremely RARE. It's a drink-pouch of Orange Drink from Bulgaria. Yes, you read that right...Bulgaria! ( I would really like to have one of these babies, just because it's so unusual ). The 3rd photo is kinda common but still pretty cool. It's a quart carton of All-Star Fruit Punch from 1966. As you can see it has beautiful graphics all around it. They also made other flavors including Grape & Orange. The next "Bat-Beverage" came out just a year or 2 ago. It's one of those Bellywashers novelty drinks you see in grocery stores & truck stops. I think these are kinda cool & when they have make a Batman one I always get it. I think there are about 3 variations. OK, I saved the best for last! The 5th photo is an original store display poster from the 1960's to sell Batman Chocolate Milk. I think these were put out by All-Star, the company that made the Fruit-Punch up above. This is a large poster that is double-sided. So, usually when you find one there's a side that is faded & the other side is MINT. These look really cool framed to hang in the kitchen...sweet! Hmmm, ok, do any Bat-Blog readers have examples of "Bat-Beverages" not shown here? I know they also did a 1989 Bat-Cola in Australia that's pretty cool & some in the UK that had graphics from Batman: The Animated Series. Please send some photos today!

Photos: Vintage BATMAN Paperbacks from Bulgaria!

We have a friend named Zdravko from Bulgaria who has a really great Batman Fan Weblog where he shares pictures of his collection & news about our favorite Dark Knight. Recently he posted a few photos of some of his vintage paperback Batman books that are written in Bulgarian. Speaking of Zdrako's site, it's all written in his foreign language so you might not be able to read it but there's plenty of visual eye-candy to enjoy. Here's a link to check out his page:
