BATMAN TOY COLLECTING - 1970's Memorabilia

I was a little kid back in the 1970's so much of the Batman Toys and Collectibles from that era have a deep nostalgia for me. It's just that I remember actually playing with them, ha! So, here's a nice assortment of groovy 70's items!

First up is a BATMAN TRU-DIMENSION 3-D Action Picture Kit ©1976. Basically this was like a paint by numbers kit, except the "canvas" was 4 layers of clear plastic. You painted them sort of like the way an Animation Artist would paint a cartoon Cel, there were designs in black outline & you would fill-in the color by painting it's back side. Then when you flipped it around it was complete. Each piece had just a few different elements of one total picture. The 4 sheets of plastic were then put in a frame with each piece slightly separated & layered. The end result was a 3-D picture.

Then, here's something you don't see a lot nowadays. This is a Fanzine Magazine, COMIC ZINE #1, from Oct 1971. I'm totally digging the Golden Age artwork on the cover here! These are usually pretty hard to find because they were so limited & usually distributed regionally. Like, only sold in certain areas.

Next up, is an extremely SUPER-RARE item! This is a Batman Long-Sleeve T-Shirt made by a Children's Clothing Company called "Rob Roy". The design on the front is made with artwork "borrowed" from Neal Adams. This example still has it's original Department Store Hang Tag! It was made around ©1974 and very hard to find.

Last, but not least, is this 1977 BATMAN STAMP 'N PRINT SET made by Ahi Brand ( Azrak-Hamway Int'l Inc ). This is one of those cheesy toys you would see at 7-Eleven or you might remember begging your Mom for this at a Grocery Store, ha! I totally love the vintage graphics. It's also cool that it contained a lot of Super-Villain character Rubber Stamps.

New BATMAN ARKHAM CITY T-Shirts at TFAW

While surfing through the TFAW website the other night, to see what brand-new Batman products there are out there, I came across these really cool BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY T-Shirts. Of course they feature graphics from the video game. Three of them focus on the logo or other generic graphic art, while the others all feature Bat-Villains like Harley Quinn & Two-Face. Now, there are no Joker shirts right now, but you know there will be, ha! For more information CLICK HERE!

Rare 1966 BATMAN Girl's Summer Shirt

Here's a wonderful photo of an extremely RARE piece of Vintage Batman merchandise. It's a 1966 BATMAN Shirt... for a Little Girl. This item was bought off eBay awhile back from our friend Doug, who wrote, "I recently purchased this 1966 Batman Girl's Summer Shirt on eBay for a song. It is size 3X small cotton shirt with the Joker, Penquin, Batmobile, Batman, and Robin. It also has Gotham City in the background. Please note the Batman Logo is highlighted in pink and other features as well. This is the first one I have ever seen."

Yes, I have to agree that this is the very first time I have seen this variation. Now, I've seen this same graphic used on Baby bibs, Pillows, T-Shirts, etc...but never on a little girl's outfit & never in the strange hot pink variation, very cool! Thanks to Doug for sharing. So, do YOU have a RARE Batman Collectible you would like to share? I'm talking about a "Museum Piece" you have never seen before. if so, then please shoot the Bat-Blog a photo & send it to us, thanks.

Funny Funny Funny BATMAN Humor Photos!

OK, Many Bat-Blog Readers send us great photos all the time & I totally appreciate that. I mean, I've always said that if the Bat-Blog is any good at all then it's because of that reason. Here are some great examples: The 1st pic is a recent submission of a "found photo". The guy who sent it said he can't remember the site he found it on but he thought it was pretty funny & knew we would like it. It's a Batman T-Shirt that is a parody of the Apple iPod Advertising. It shows the Dark Knight listening to music on his iPod & it's attached to his bat-belt...hilarious! The next pic was found by our good friend Bob. It's an actual tourist photo of a "Cambodian Batman Taxi". It's a large Bicycle-Cart that is pulled by a Moped Motorcycle. I think they call these things TUK-TUK. There is actually an entire sub-culture revolving around these very unique vehicles. Do a Web-Search sometime & you'll see a ton of great pics. This one, of the "Batmobile Tuk-Tuk" is extremely inventive & it really looks like it would be pretty fun to zoom around town in. If I were on vacation in Cambodia I would totally go for it! The last photo was e-mailed to me the other night & when I opened it I completely cracked-up, ha ha! It's Batman showing the Joker some of his favorite movies he has appeared in & the Joker has a correct response! Well, hopefully you got a good laugh! Now remember, if YOU come across any Silly Batman Material then please share it with us ( unless it's something you created yourself, please let us know "where" you got it ). Our email button is always at the top right-hand side of this page.

Brand-New Vintage-Style BATMAN & BATGIRL T-Shirts!!

While surfing the net the other night I came across these brand-new ultra-cool Batman T-Shirts that I thought I would share here. They're some new designs that just came out. I thought the one with the Batgirl design is too awesome because it looks like a Vintage Halloween Costume. The Batman one in the middle looks like it's from the 1980's ( or even the 1970's ) & the one with just the "Batman Logo" is cool because it's the modern version you don't see on T-Shirts very often. If you're looking for good deals & great service online then I suggest clicking the button down below.

New BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game T-Shirts!!

You're either playing the game or you want the game! Yeah, I'm talking about the new BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game! The official launch & release of the game was yesterday & many people are saying it will be THE GAME OF THE YEAR! Sadly, I have not got to play it yet but seriously plan too. I mean, all the reviews have been very excellent...I'm pretty happy about that! While searching for alternative products in this franchise I came across these 2 extremely cool T-Shirts. One features Batman, as seen on the video game's box cover. The other T-Shirt has a JOKER graphic where the Joker ( voiced by Mark Hamill ) looks totally crazy! If you would like to know where to buy them I have added a link button down below. While there be sure to check out some of the other Batman T-Shirts they have because there's some other great ones too!

Rob Kelly, Batman Fan : Circa 1970's

Here's a wonderful vintage photo that I totally stole from another friend's website, ha ha! This is a good friend of mine named Rob Kelly who writes a popular blog named THE AQUAMAN SHRINE. He also has a few other blogs like HEY KIDS! COMICS!, & TREASURY COMICS. He also has a few more. I think he's got OCD, maybe? ( Kidding, Rob! ) But this wonderful photo is him in the mid-1970's. He thinks it might be from 1976 or 1977. The cool thing about it...the BATMAN BAT-SYMBOL LOGO on his T-Shirt!! Thanks Rob for allowing me to steal this, it's very cool. I even like that "Can Collection" you got going on there, ha ha!

BATMAN and JOKER T-SHIRTS From The UK's FRENCH CONNECTION Clothing Store

There is a specialty store in the UK called the FRENCH CONNECTION & this year they will feature many different high-quality T-Shirts with Batman graphic designs. The shirts cover a lot of different versions of Batman & The Joker from the Comic Books to The Dark Knight movie ( the examples shown here are the "comic book" versions with the 1st Batman being the artwork of Jim Lee ). There's gonna be a very nice variety. Here are just 2 of my favorites & they have so many great ones that it would be hard to choose. Now, the thing to keep in mind is that they are quite expensive. Another thing to think about is that they are not yet published on their website but will be soon. Down below is a link button to their main site. Later, choose the "United Kingdom" section to see the Batman & Joker T-Shirts.
