The JUNIOR BATSQUAD Strikes Back!!

The JUNIOR BATSQUAD is a group of Kids living in New Jersey who are all total Batman Fans, they're AWESOME! Well, these photos are from a recent field trip where they got to visit a Super BATMAN Toy Collector who has a ton of cool collectibles. While there they goofed around & took these fun pics for the Bat-Blog.

In the 1st one they holding up an extremely RARE Autographed Framed Photo of Lewis Wilson as BATMAN, from the 1943 Serial Movies. I guess you could say he was the very 1st Batman Actor! Sadly, he died in 2000 at the golden age of 80. It's an extremely cool photo.

Next, the Kids are playing with a 1967 BATMAN Movie Prop. Actually, it's a Replica of the BOMB made famous by Adam West. I love the pose of the Boy holding it, just like West in the film, hilarious!!

Gene's Vintage Photo - The Original BATMAN TV Show 1966 Batmobile Car

Check out this amazing photo! It belongs to a guy in New Jersey named Gene. His story is, "Back in February of 1967, my dad took me and my younger brother Michael over to the Old Armory in West Orange, NJ, where they used to have great Hot Rods and Stock Car Shows. My Dad took this lone photo of us in front of one of the five original BATMAN TV 1966 Batmobiles!" WOW!!! Gene strongly believes the Custom Car he saw in 1967 was the #4 Batmobile ( the vehicle used for all the drag racing scenes ) because of the elaborate seat belt harnesses he and his brother recall seeing in the interior. Also, CHECK OUT the awesome life-size cardboard cutouts of Adam & Burt to the far right!!! This is a Classic Childhood Photograph! I wanna thank BatDave for bringing it to our attention & especially thank Gene for sharing his wonderful childhood memory... great stuff!

Video - 1967 Family BATMAN Movie ( Vintage Fan Film )

A friend of ours over at Facebook sent us this link to a really great BATMAN Fan Film. Now the thing that's extremely cool about it is that it was done in 1967! Yes, some kids back then must have had an 8mm camera or something & they put this BATMAN movie together! The thing that's so cool is that the "vintage look" of the movie gives it a lot of charm. Plus, they used some old Batman Halloween Masks as props, which are great to see! They also featured a fun 1966 Batmobile toy car that acts as the car in the movie. It's use is really clever... enjoy!

60's BATMAN MOVIE BATCOPTER Live at The New Jersey State Fair!

Shown up above are some amazing photos sent in by our friend BatDave. He recently went to the New Jersey State Fair where they have the Original 1960's BATCOPTER from the Batman TV Series Movie!! He said he didn't ride it this year but he did get some great pics of this classic bat-vehicle ( As always, click on them for larger versions ). He even came across a wonderful Freak Show Banner with "The HUMAN BAT", that is a total parody of the character, AWESOME! The NJ Fair is actually still going on right now until July 5th, 2010. The cost of riding in the helicopter is $30.00. I once rode in one of these bell-copters ( not the Batman one ) and the experience is well worth the price. Seriously, it's incredible! Here's a link to the NJ Fair website, just click HERE!

Do You Know The Name of This BATMAN & ROBIN Illustrator ?

A friend recently bought this original artwork that is actually a very large advertising poster featuring Batman, Robin, The Joker, The Penguin, The Batmobile Car, & The Bat-Jet ( whew! ). It was painted by an artist named Tooley for the Mid-Continent Expositions Inc ©1967. Tooley was an illustrator and this was a concept-design painting for a parade float that he was commissioned for by Mid-Continent in 1967 around the time of the Batman TV Show ( the 2nd Season ). It measures 27 1/2 inches by 17 1/2 inches, is on heavy poster board, all hand painted including lettering. What we're trying to figure out is, "Who is this "Tooley" artist guy?", and "What ( or where ) was this Mid-Continent organization?" So, if anybody reading this might know the answer to either question then please respond by e-mail. Our e-mail button is always at the top right-hand side of this page...it's drivin' us crazy not knowing anything, ha ha! Please be sure to click the above images for larger, more detailed, versions. Also, on a side-note: If they ever made this Batman Parade Float in real-life then it would have been SUPER-AWESOME!!

Vintage 1960's Batman Promo Poster From Europe!

Our good friend Hans, who lives in The Netherlands, sent us this beautiful photo of an extremely RARE piece of Vintage 60's Batman Memorabilia! He wrote, " this is my latest find, a Dutch Batman & Robin Promo Poster ©1967. This was a special mail-in order poster from a Dutch grocery store called Albert Heijn. If one did your shopping there you could save up for this poster." WOW! Thanks Han, this is truly super-rare & I seriously LOVE the vintage artwork! In fact, I went ahead & used your photo to make a Desktop Wallpaper ( down below ) that you, and Bat-Blog Readers, can enjoy. Plus, I posted a picture of the actual poster up above...it's really nice! Thank you very much for sending this, I appreciate that!

Vintage 1967 BATMAN GIVE-A-SHOW BAT-PROJECTOR By Chad Valley

I was recently contacted by a Vintage Toy Collector in the UK. His main collecting obsession is the very wonderful GIVE-A-SHOW PROJECTOR SETS made by Chad Valley & Kenner. I think we all had one of these toys as a kid. I did, & truly loved it ( I think I had the one with Popeye ). Anyway, he's created a very well designed website that features many of these playsets & it's really great reference material for serious collectors. But, he wrote me to tell me about his post on this 1967 BATMAN TOY that capitalized on the popularity of the 1966 Batman TV Show. Ya see, I did a post about this cool collectible awhile back, right here on the Bat-Blog. He told me he has pictures posted of all the slides. His page has all of them & I posted just a few to give you an idea. So, be sure to visit his site to enjoy them all. I also want to ask ALL Bat-Blog Readers, who collect both new & vintage Batman toys, to please send me any info/photos you might have. Sharing the love of collecting is what this site is all about!!

Vintage 1960's BATMAN TOYS and MEMORABILIA To Drool Over!

I have been covering a lot of news lately about a lot of the brand-new Batman Toys that are out there to collect & thought I'd do a post about some wonderful old vintage toys. The 1st photo is an amazing piece of Bat-History & also quite rare. It's the 1966 BATMAN BAT-WATCH by Amsco. This item is really beautiful. I mean the watch, with moving bat-hands, is very cool but the vintage graphics on the card are really great! I like the bright simple primary colors...nice! The next piece has a lot of graphic style also. It's an original bread wrapper for BATMAN BREAD! It too is from the mid-1960's. This pic was sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader named Wes who wanted to share this rare piece in his personal collection ( Thank You Wes ). The last photo is an item that is probably the most rare of all. It's a Justice League of America Rubber-Figure Set, Mint on Original Card. It was made by Multiple Toymakers ©1967. The figures include: Aquaman, Superman, Batman, & Wonder Woman. One thing about it that totally cracks me up is the original retail price back then was 19 cents!! Do you have any Vintage Batman Toys or Memorabilia in your toy collection that you would like to share? If so, then please e-mail us a photo today! The Bat-Blog is all about sharing the love of collecting, thanks.
