They both sort of celebrate 2 brand-new Bat-Products. So, here we go! HARLEY QUINN Will Be the Next DC Comics Bishoujo Statue by Kotobukiya

The Joker's ever faithful Companion and Partner in Crime, HARLEY QUINN, is the newest Femme Fatale to appear in Kotobukiya's DC Comics Bishoujo statue collection. She stands a little bit over 10 inches tall ( 1:7 Scale to be exact ). This image of HARLEY QUINN is based on an original
illustration from Japanese Artist Shunya Yamashita. He was inspired by the character's look in Batman: The Animated Series rather than her current 'modernized' appearance in DC Comics. This PVC STATUE was sculpted by Masahiro "Gill Gill" Takahashi to keep the level of detail fans demand from the line. Kotobukiya's HARLEY QUINN Bishoujo Statue is due to come out in September, 2012 and will retail for around $59.99.

New KOTOBUKIYA BATMAN STATUES For 2012 - THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS ( Joker )

At the recent 2012 TOY FAIR the Japanese Toy and Collectible Statue Company, KOTOBUKIYA, showed off 2 new prototypes for a few BATMAN Statues they plan on coming out with! The 1st one featured here is THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman Statue. It's a full-figure piece with a base that looks like "crumbled building" debris. Please keep in mind this is only the "prototype" and the actual product may vary. In fact, it will obviously be painted, ha! But these wonderful pics give you a great idea on the amazing attention to detail ( click the 2nd photo for a larger example ).

OK, the next Statue is sort of a surprise! They're making a Diorama-Style Statue of BATMAN and The JOKER in Battle. Plus, it's a scene from the classic Frank Miller Graphic Novel, THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS!

Dallas' Custom BATMAN - THE DARK KNIGHT Kotobukia Bat-Signal Lamp

Here's a couple of craft project photos from our buddy named Dallas. He created this Custom Light-Up Bat-Signal by converting a Kotobukia Statue of Batman perched on top of the Bat-Signal. Of course, it's the version from "THE DARK KNIGHT" movie. Basically he took the Bat-Signal piece & retrofit a light inside it. He also added a different lens cover ( I think ) so that light would shine through it. overall, Dallas did an amazing job on this new piece because it now looks extremely cool! OK, I have seen a few other people do this & it makes me wonder, "Why didn't Kotobukia do this in the 1st place? I mean, it seems so obvious". I'm sure it had something to do with production cost. Plus, they make art statues & they're NOT in the lamp business. Anyways, I didn't mean to loose track here. Plus, I also wanna thank Dallas for sharing his photos. If any other Bat-Blog Readers have any Bat-Craft Projects going on then please let us know. We always love to hear from creative people.

TOY GARAGE - Toy Collector Magazine From Taiwan with Batman Movie Cover!

Jerry, our friend who lives in Taiwan, sent us these photos of a Toy Collector Magazine there called TOY GARAGE. This issue came out around the time of THE DARK KNIGHT movie & featured some cool Bat-Collectibles. In fact, Batman was on the cover & the main story was about some of the statues & busts made by HOT TOYS & KOTOBUKIYA. It's so cool to me how Batman is extremely popular all over the world. Thanks Jerry for sending these wonderful pics!

Custom KOTOBUKIYA BATMAN "BAT-SIGNAL" Statue Now Has Light!

I just got these pics from a long time reader, named Dallas, who wanted to share his Custom "BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT PERCHED ON THE BAT-SIGNAL" Statue with us. He wrote, "I thought some of your readers / collectors would be interested in what I did to my Dark Knight Kotobukiya statue to make it an even cooler piece to display. All I did was remove ( with a dremel tool ) the center of the bat signal out and dropped an Ikea disc light in the center, cutting a little opening for the electrical cord...and HOLY BAT-SIGNAL! Now you've got one of the coolest lamps EVER!!!" WOW! Now, Dallas, this does look really cool & you did a great job on it. The upward lighting effect is very dramatic. To be honest. The very very first time I saw this statue offered by Kotobukiya I actually thought they were gonna make it have this feature. I mean, it seemed so obvious! But they didn't. It probably would have made it more labor intensive or something. Plus, they're in the "Statue Business" & not into making lamps. But I remember actually being kinda disappointed that it didn't light-up, ha ha! So, your custom job is really neat. Nothing bad against Kotobukiya, because they're an awesome company & their statues are wonderful quality, but THIS is how it SHOULD have been done! Thank you for sharing the pics & your story, that's great! I love when readers are responsive like this because it gives the Bat-Blog some nice variety.

FIRST LOOK : THE DARK KNIGHT BATMAN "ORIGINAL BAT-SUIT" ARTFX STATUE Japanese Import By KOTOBUKIYA

These last 2 photos are actually Desktop Wallpapers, enjoy!

Remember, you saw it here first! The Bat-Blog has been honored by The KOTOBUKIYA Company as the very first website to introduce their latest creation, The Dark Knight Batman Movie "Original Bat-Suit" Artfx Statue!! This is the 2nd release of a deluxe, collector’s edition, statue based on Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT. This figure is approx. 14 inches tall!

It's called the "Original Bat-Suit" because, before upgrading his costume, Batman faces the Gotham underworld attired in this sleek, stealthy gear. It shows Batman engulfed in his cape while perched upon a bright Bat Signal. The original costume and upright signal imply the early career of the detective, as an admired protector of Gotham City.

Rendered with insane detailing by sculptor BusujimaX, and drawing upon vast reference material from both DC Comics and Warner Brothers, the Bat-Suit Costume, Bat-Signal, and facial likeness of actor Christian Bale are all captured perfectly. ARTFX Statues are 1/6th scale model kits that can be easily assembled in minutes without any glue or modeling skill. It will be available exclusively from DC Direct
in JANUARY so look for it then! Oh yeah, the suggested retail price will be $125.00.

Please be sure to click on the above photos for larger, more detailed, shots. Also, the last 2 pictures are actually BATMAN WALLPAPERS I have made to help decorate your PC's desktop & to remind you about this great product. For more information, here's a link to the Japanese KOTOBUKIYA Company.
