THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - Batman Toys and Movie Merchandise From BRAZIL!!

OK, Anyone who has been following the BAT-BLOG.COM for the last few years ( or days ) knows that I am totally crazy for "Foreign Batman" Products and Toys, ha! As a Serious Batman Collector this stuff just always looks so cool & it's actually very hard to find. So, you can just imagine how excited I was to hear from a Friend in Brazil who recently bought a bunch of cool stuff. His name is Marcio & he was kind enough to share these great photos! ( Be sure to click on them for larger pics )

In the 1st pic Marcio concentrated on some Batman Board Games and Boxed Jigsaw Puzzles he bought. Of course these are all related to THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie. I totally love the graphics on these, especially the 2 LARGE Board Game Boxes.

Then, speaking of the film, the 2nd pic shows some goodies he got at his local Brazilian Cinema. Yes! In the beautiful Country of Brazil their IMAX Movie Theaters had some neat promo tie-ins! Shown here are some of the Drinking Cups, Popcorn Buckets ( I love those ), Water Bottle, Paper Bags, and even a Baseball Cap/Hat!

Jason's BATMAN and JOKER Toy Collection

Every now & then Bat-Blog Fans ( at least the ones that are smart & cool ) send us photos of their BATMAN TOY Collections & we always love to see them because it's always great to see other people's stuff. Here's some pics sent to us by our friend Jason & he's done a great job at displaying his toys & memorabilia. Now to be honest, he sent more pictures than this, but we have been having major issues with our email program so I grabbed all the pics I could get. But there's enough here to enjoy & there's plenty of eye candy too! Jason has a whole room dedicated to Batman with a lot of framed art & display cases. Basically, we're showing one wall with a cool BATMAN Comic Book Cover Puzzle that has been framed & a few shelves of Joker Toys, mostly from The Dark Knight movie but also a nice mix of other versions. The puzzle is a recent piece from none other than The Pottery Barn. Yes, a couple of years ago they created a few Batman Products ( mostly bedding ) & if you're a long time reader of the Bat-Blog you might remember our post about it. At the time I really wanted this puzzle, still do, ha! The other toys include a very cool Bat-Belt Replica, a Harley Quinn Barbie, a Joker PEZ Candy Dispenser, a few Action Figures, & some awesome HOT TOYS Figures! ( Thanks for sending these pics in Jason, you have got some extremely cool stuff here & I love the display action. )

Vintage 1974 BATMAN VILLAIN Jigsaw Puzzles in a Can!

Everybody who grew-up in the 1970's will recognize this stuff, it's a Jigsaw Puzzle in a Can! Oh yeah, as a little kid I used to love these. I think I had 2 or 3 of them, Superman & Batman. But here are some that were sort of an unusual series, The SUPER-FOES! These puzzles featured major Batman Villians: The Joker, The Penguin, & The Riddler! These are all the pictures I could find of these super-rare toys & I'm wondering if they made more of them. I mean, it seems sort of logical that they might have made one with Catwoman too. But either way, the artwork on these are wonderful.

BATMAN Promotional Food Products...From Egypt!!

OK, I gotta say upfront that this is a post I am very proud of. You see, I just recently got an e-mail from a Batman Fan who lives in Egypt! Yes, EGYPT...How cool is that?! Her name is Myret & she says she has loved the Dark Knight since she was around 9 years old. She is now 23. She was also kind enough to send some great photos of a few pieces of Batman-related merchandise she has found in her country. The 1st two photos relate to a Batman Food Product called "Halwani FUN Sausages". They are a Meat Snack & the box says, "They're Ready To Eat!" She said that as a free premium inside you get the Set of Batman Playing Cards that are shown in the 2nd picture. WOW, a whole deck! The last photo shows 2 Bags of Potato Chips that she said are a lot like ( American ) Cheetos. Now, their special premium prize were some Batman & Robin ( comic book version ) Puzzle Playing Pieces. I guess if you collect them all they make a neat image...WOW! Thank you so very much Myret for taking the time to shoot these nice pics. I really appreciate you sending them. These unusual pieces of Bat-Memorabilia are really GREAT!!

New BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD 46 Piece MY SIZE XL PUZZLE Mattel Product

Just a quick post to announce that a new BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Bat-Product will be hitting retail stores pretty soon ( they're already at Amazon ). It's a Batman: The Brave & The Bold MY-SIZE PUZZLE by Mattel! These puzzles are super-giant-sized, have really sharp graphics, & what some people do is put them on the wall for display in kid's rooms. They're very cool. I've bought a few older vintage ones for nephews & they really loved them! The graphics on this one is of the full-figure shot of the Batman & Red Tornado characters. ( Thanks John, about letting me know about this new item & where to buy it ).

ORIGINAL ART For 1966 BATMAN and ROBIN Whitman Frame-Tray Puzzle

Last night I was visiting a friend's website & saw these 2 photos that I had to totally steal, ha ha! They show what the original artwork for the 1966 BATMAN and ROBIN Whitman Frame-Tray Puzzle looks like! Oh man, this is a wonderful piece of Bat-History that I had to share. ( Be sure to click on the small photo up above for a larger, more detailed, version ). I have the puzzle but to be able to own the original art would be totally insane. I mean, how can you even put a price on something like that?! So, thanks "Percy Trout Hour" for allowing me to steal these pics, not that I asked or anything, ha ha. Vintage 1960's Japanese BATMAN TOYS From Japan!

Here are some really great photos of some amazing vintage 60's BATMAN TOYS from Japan! The 1st photo was sent in by our friend Hans who just recently bought this Batman & Robin Japanese Jigsaw Puzzle. I seriously love the retro graphics & Japanese language...nice! (Thanks Han, cool find). The next few photos are some great examples of Japanese BATMOBILE Tin Toys (OK, The Bat-Jet is plastic. But you get the idea, ha ha!). One of them even has the original box! Ya know, sometimes these things are licensed by DC Comics & other times they are totally bootleg, but I don't care, I LOVE THEM ALL! Vintage 1960's BATMAN and ROBIN Frame Tray Puzzles!

For today's post I wanted to get back to VINTAGE TOYS because, really, that's what this site was originally created for, the love of the old Batman Toys & Memorabilia! So, here's a really nice example: Shown up above are some rare 1960's Batman & Robin Frame-Tray Puzzles made by Whitman (#1 & 4 ) and Strathmore ( #2 & 3 ). As a toy collector I really love these because they're neat to frame for display on the wall. Plus, I used to totally love puzzles when I was a little kid so they kinda bring back good nostalgic feelings. My Grandmother used to buy these for me at a store called TG&Y that doesn't exist anymore. So, I guess I'm kinda sentimental about these for that reason. The graphics are very cool. The 1st one is my personal favorite because it's a great scene with the Batmobile. It's the most common of the four shown but the picture is so awesome. I would like to take a minute to ask some of you to send in your photos & stories. Sharing information about this hobby is another main reason for this blog. I hope you enjoy these puzzles as much as I do.

Vintage Batman Toys: Puzzles

Recently the BAT-BLOG has sort of been bogged down with THE DARK KNIGHT movie news so I thought I would do a traditional posting that is about Vintage Batman Toys. Which, is the main function of this blog! Here's some nice examples of different Batman Puzzles made thru the ages. The 1st one is a 1966 Batman & Penguin Puzzle made by Whitman. The graphics are really wonderful with a cool vintage Batman-Logo. The next picture is one of those Batman "Canister Puzzles" made by APC from 1973. I always thought that the way they sold them in coffee cans was kind of neat. The graphics on this baby were done by the Classic Comic Book Artist Carmine Infantino...nice! The next puzzle is one of my favorites. It was made by Aurora of all companies. They specialized in slot cars & model kits but I guess since they had the rights to use Neal Adams' awesome artwork they went ahead & made this puzzle. The cool thing about this puzzle is that it is super-HUGE & when put together it's almost 9 square feet, GIANT-SIZE, & great for display on the wall!! The last puzzle is a wooden frame tray puzzle made by Playskool. It features the cartoon version of the Batman & Robin movie, very obscure!

Vintage 1960's Batman Toys: 60's Nostalgia

OK, the coolest Bat-Memorabilia are the items made in the 60's for the 1966 TV Series, just our opinion! Ha Ha, here's some great examples: The Whitman company, who is famous for their coloring books, also made some great character Frame-Tray Puzzles. I think the puzzles are great! They usually have awesome graphics & are nice for display but for some reason they really get a bum-rap! I mean, the prices for these are usually pretty low, weird huh? The next bit of vintage Batman memorabilia shown here is this really cool 1966 Batman Swimming Pool Ring-Float. We seriously LOVE the vintage graphics on this baby...nice! The last bat-item shown is also the weirdest! Here's the classic 1966 Batman Troll Doll. Ya gotta love that Batman Costume, ha ha!
