GOTHAM CITY BATMAN TATTOO - Inspired by Jim Lee's Art in HUSH Book

I received a nice email the other night from a Bat-Blog Fan named David who said he recently got some bat-ink done. The cool thing was he shared these excellent pics with us. He explained that the artwork was inspired by the art of Jim Lee that you can see in a panel from the BATMAN: HUSH Graphic Novel. It's main focus is the skyline of Gotham City with a Batman Bat-Symbol Logo under it, very interesting choice & well done! Also, it has some of the GCPD Blimps in it too! ( Thanks David )

NEW BATMAN CHESS Board Game - DC COLLECTION by UK Eaglemoss

For our friends in England, the UK Eaglemoss Company has just announced a brand-new product called the "DC CHESS COLLECTION". Which is kinda weird because basically it's a BATMAN CHESS SET! They pretty much sell the game pieces one at a time ( I think you have to subscribe ) & each piece comes with a special magazine featuring origin stories of that character. They have already announced the 1st five Characters / Game Pieces ( shown here ) & teased about the next three ( Catwoman, Red Hood, & Hush ). The 5 include: Batman, Robin, Joker, Commissioner Gordon, & Two-Face. I scanned their website like crazy trying to find out how tall these pieces are, but nothing, sorry. There will also be a special BATMAN SYMBOL Game Board & a FREE binder to hold your magazines. For more information, just click HERE!

Stephanie's BATMAN HUSH Tattoo Art Photo

Check out this amazing Batman Tattoo photo sent in by our good friend Stephanie. She is also known, in many blog-writing circles, as "WITA". What does her nickname mean? It's the name of her blog: "What Is Techno Again". So, I was pretty surprised she got a Bat-Tat...but that's very cool. It came out really great! She explains,
"The tattoo is based on the Dustin Nguyen (one of my favorite comic book artists) cover of Detective Comics #846 with a little extra creativity on my part. As you know, the green necklace is Tommy's trademark of sorts / given to him by his mother before she died. The red and white "H" on the tattoo represents Hush's imitation and mockery of Robin (Jason Todd) in Batman: Hush ( Hush wears a red "H" on his costume )."
Steph, for a long time I have known you're a HUGE Dustin Nguyen Fan but this totally proves that! So, below your tattoo pic I posted this Batman-HUSH Wallpaper Background for you to enjoy. As you know, it's the original Nguyen artwork that your bat-tat is based on. Plus, thanks for sending in the pics... it's great stuff & your INK looks awesome!

Photo: BATMAN and CATWOMAN TATTOO Jim Lee Comic Book Art

Every now & then, here at the Bat-Blog, we post photos of Batman-related Tattoo Art. It's sort of a gimmick that this website has become famous for. So, how did it take off? Well, at first I did because I thought it was news worthy & interesting. Then I started to get a ton of requests from people who were thinking about getting Bat-Tats & looking for graphic ideas. Then, other Bat-Blog Fans would start sending in their photos. It just sort of organically grew & became a feature of this site. Now, personally, even though I would probably never get a tattoo ( because of the expense, not because of any social stigma ), I have always thought the art form is really beautiful. Well, maybe I should not have started this post with this history lesson ( I apologize ) but I just had to get that out of my system, ha! The real reason for this story is to share this wonderful photo of an extremely cool BATMAN-CATWOMAN TATTOO that a reader named Natalie just sent us. Serious Fans of the Batman comic books will instantly recognize that the artwork here was originally drawn by Jim Lee. I'm pretty sure it's from the HUSH storyline & it's become sort of an iconic image. This really looks great as a tattoo! The Tattoo Artist did an amazing job on the black lines, shading, highlights, & color. I'm serious, it looks really great. Thanks to Natalie for sharing this photo & if any other Bat-Fans out there get any ink done then please shoot us a photo. Our email button is always at the top right-hand side of this page.
