US Senator Patrick Leahy in The New DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Trailer!

I've watched the new Dark Knight Batman #2 Movie Trailer about 100 times recently, ha ha! I was wondering, did anyone else notice during the scene with the Joker & his goons crashing Bruce Wayne's dinner party at his penthouse that the "real life" United States Senator from Vermont (D) Patrick Leahy is in the crowd? Yep, he's a HUGE Batman Fan & he got himself a guest spot in the film, pretty cool huh?! He was also in Batman & Robin with George Clooney.

BATMAN ART: The Art Portfolio of Mark Slater, Graphic Designer

OK, Here's a quick post that goes in the "Graphic Artist Inspired By Batman" category. I'm talking about Mark Slater, a young 23 year old graphic artist, who has a ton of talent. Shown here are a few examples of his work where you can clearly see that he loves the Batman character. The graphics show the Batman Villains: The Joker ( Heath Ledger from The Dark Knight movie ), Two-Face ( from the Comic Book or Graphic Novel? ), and Mr. Freeze ( A lot like the version from Batman: The Animated Series ). 2 Free BATMAN WALLPAPER BACKGROUNDS Featuring THE JOKER!

Regular Bat-Blog Readers know the drill! Every Wednesday we post 2 Brand-New BATMAN WALLPAPERS you can use as a background in a MySpace layout or to decorate your PC Desktop! Here are some with a JOKER theme. The 1st one is a new one at the Official DC Comics website where they kinda hype the soon-to-be-released BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE 20th Anniversary Graphic Novel Book ( I can't wait till this comes out & they're also gonna make some very cool Action Figures too ). The next Joker Wallpaper is extremely special because it was created by a friend of the Bat-Blog named "Bacon". He's a graphic designer dude with a lot of talent. He made this just for you guys & it's really cool! I like how, in the background, there's the phrase "WHY SO SERIOUS?" & the letter have a drop-shadow to give them a 3-D look. The graphic of Joker has the same shadow & it's just a neat trick-of-the-eye that I like. We wanna invite other readers to send us LARGE graphics we can use as backgrounds. Sharing information & the joy of Batman collecting is what this blog is all about!

WHY SO SERIOUS? The Dark Knight Website Does a Heath Ledger Tribute.

The Warner Bros viral-marketing website for The Dark Knight Batman movie, called WHYSOSERIOUS.COM, did a small Heath Ledger Tribute. They placed a black ribbon on the main page. Then, when you click a "hidden button" ( just right of the x-acto knife ) the page burns away to reveal a photo of The Joker. The ribbon stays there though & is right next to his face.

Just a quick update on the Joker website WHYSOSERIOUS.COM for The Dark Knight Batman Movie. If you click near the x-acto knife it bursts into flames to reveal new Joker ( Heath Ledger ) photo. OK, we've all seen that ( See previous Bat-Blog posts ). Well, a new function is you click on Joker's face & it goes to the RORYSDEATHKISS.COM page. I posted a photo of what that page looks like. Basically it's the "Joker's Notebook" with pictures submitted by people in Joker make-up from all over the world....pretty cool!

DARK KNIGHT NEWS : The Joker's Message at WHYSOSERIOUS.COM ( Joker Wallpaper )

OK, We have all been suckered by the "event" at the Joker's WHYSOSERIOUS website. For awhile now there has been a really cool animation at that page of a Jack O'Lantern Pumpkin with a burning candle getting shorter & one side of the pumpkin rotting ( is this a reference to TWO-FACE? ). Well, everybody has been speculating that on Halloween something was gonna happen, it did! Very early in the morning this picture showed up ( 1st photo ). There were cut-out letters like a ransom note & when you click on them they had clues. People were invited to figure them out all day. They were like scavenger hunt clues in major cities. I guess all the clues got done because later you saw the finished message ( 2nd photo ). OK, after the message was finished you could click on a secret place of the photo & an animation would appear. The "secret place" is around the bottom right-hand side, near the knife...if you go there try to click it, ha ha! Clicking it causes the note to burst into flames ( a cool animation ) & this photo of The Joker appears. After you see Joker's new photo you can click it & it would go to a new website called RORYSDEATHKISS ( last photo ). The "Rory's Death Kiss" page has another clue that will be solved soon. THE DARK KNIGHT PUMPKIN ON THE JOKER'S WEBSITE

For Halloween Warner Bros is using it's DARK KNIGHT web page as a marketing tool & I guess it's working. If you go to the page they "made up" for the Joker then you can see an animation of a Halloween Jack-O-Lantern Pumpkin. It's the same style pumpkin you see in the graphic novel The Long Halloween where the mouth is cut-out to look like the Bat-Symbol. Now, awhile back the pumpkin was fresh & the candle was brand new. But today, on the 28th, the candle is burned down way low & the pumpkin is starting to rot. So, the pumpkin has been very slowly rotting away. Everybody is all excited about what they think might happen on Halloween night, October 31st. Let's all wait & see. Hopefully it will be something very cool, ha ha ha ha ha!
