THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS - New Images From The DC Universe Animated Film

I've been meaning to post these new photos for a few days but have been inundated with a lot of other things, sorry! Anyways - HERE WE GO! Here are some new sneak-peek pics of the art direction for the next DC Universe Animated Film DVD, "THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS".

Of course we're talking about the Classic 1986 Frank Miller Graphic Novel and I'm loving the images of Carrie Kelley ( 13 Year Old Girl Robin ). OK, The Mutants are pretty cool to see too!

BATMAN - THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS - New Promo Photos from the Future Animated Movie

You might remember from last year "BATMAN: YEAR ONE" was made into a full-length animated feature  by Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. Well, now another classic story by Frank Miller is going to get the "DC Universe Animated Film" treatment! This movie will take on the iconic 1986 Graphic Novel, BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS!

This story doesn't even need an introduction. Basically, it's set in the near future when Bruce Wayne is an aging old man, retired. But because of some new events he is brought out of retirement. This Graphic Novel is so important to Bat-History that I'm sort of shocked they're even trying to to do this in animated form. But, it's got Bruce Timm behind it, as well as an amazing cast, so I know it should be pretty cool!

Here are some recent promo photos that have been leaked. My two favorites are the iconic "Lightning Bolt Flash" picture up above and then getting to see Carrie Kelley again, the 13 year old "Girl Robin".

BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS Graphic Novel Tribute

The BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS ©1986 Graphic Novel is considered by many to be a pivotal point in Bat-History. Frank Miller created an incredible story & the comic book artwork was amazing! I completely love this book & highly recommend it to anyone who loves the character. Speaking of "character", in this book Robin was a girl! Her name was Carrie Kelley & she was awesome! Well, recently I came across 2 different pieces of art done by 2 famous comic book artists who must really liked the book too. The 1st one is drawn & inked by John Byrne. The 2nd one is a sketch by Jim Lee. I think both of these guys did an amazing job & they're both a wonderful tribute! ( Please be sure to click on them for larger, more detailed, versions ).

Wacky Batman Wallpaper Wednesday!

Yes! This Wednesday we're able to post new Batman Wallpapers! Last week we experienced the worst PC virus ever & was unable to post anything for a few days....aarrrgggh! But today we're on schedule. Here are 2 kick-ass Batman Wallpapers you can use to brighten your desktop or put in a MySpace layout. The 1st graphic is a scanned Golden Age Comic Book page where you see Batman bursting thru a window. As wallpaper, it looks like he is jumping thru your PC monitor. I love the "Retro 30's look" of Batman here. The 2nd graphic is by Frank Miller & is from the classic graphic novel THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. It has the cool Carrie Kelley ( Girl Robin ) character that you don't see a lot of, very obscure. Be sure to check the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for many many more desktop wallpapers. We also have a Batman Wallpapers page. The links for both are supplied on the right-side of the blog.

CARRIE KELLEY DESKTOP WALLPAPER Frank Miller's Batman

Now I know it's not Wednesday ( The BAT-BLOG posts 2 cool Batman Wallpapers every Wed ) but I couldn't wait to post this wonderful Batman Desktop Wallpaper I created! The art is by the famous comic book artist Frank Miller & it shows Carrie Kelley, with Batman, flying thru the air! When he added Robin to his version of Batman he made the character an adolescent girl! She was a really great character too with alot of personality, I loved her. This is a scene from the classic Batman graphic Novel THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. If you have never read this book then shame on you, ha ha! It's one of the VERY BEST Batman stories....ever!
