Vintage BATMAN 1966 BATMOBILE REPLICA CAR Story from 1989 Belgium Newspaper

WOW! Now here's an extremely cool piece of Bat-History! A Loyal Bat-Blog Fan in Belgium, named Cliff, sent us this scan of a Vintage Newspaper Clipping he has kept forever! Cliff explained,

"I thought you might be interested in a 1989 newspaper article which I have kept since then in my good old and battered Batman Official Movie book. According to the article, the stunning 1966 Batmobile Replica Car is the work of the (then) 27 year old Mark Perkins from Winkfield Row, UK. After having asked permission from Warner Brothers, Pekins ordered the 1973 Lincoln from the United States. Then, when it was shipped to him by… well, ship, he transformed the Lincoln into the Batmobile in seven months. The article ends by stating that the Batmobile Replica will be shown in front of London’s Warner West End Theater when the movie opens next Friday. I can’t help but wonder what has become of UK Batfan Mark Perkins and his Batmobile… I wonder if he ended up making replicas of the Furst Batmobile and the Tumbler :)"

That's a good question Cliff. Does the car still exist? If so, then where is it now? Thank you for sharing this great Batman-related Newspaper Clipping. It's so cool seeing older stuff like that. The Bat-Blog recently made a new friend named Salvatore. He lives in Belgium, which is pretty cool, & he's a super-major Batman Fan! What, you don't believe me? Well, check out this photo and then you'll agree. Here he is sporting his brand-new Batman Baseball Cap/Hat, Batman T-Shirt, Batman Tote-Bag, AND Batman Belt Buckle!! OK, now do you believe me? I thought this pic was kinda funny in a very clever way, I mean, he's so serious! I wanna thank Salvatore for allowing me to post this photo, BATMAN ROCKS!!

Vintage Batman Memorabilia From Poland, Germany, & Belgium!

Readers who sorta-kinda know me from reading this blog over the last few years know I am totally goo-goo over the "Foreign Batman Toys", ha ha! So, it's been nice getting a few photos of Bat-Memorabilia from readers around the world. The 1st photo is a very RARE Batman Batmobile Toy shown Mint in Original Box! Our friend Albert sent this, it was made by Polistil & it's from the late 1970's. It's extremely cool. The next photo is from our friend Norbert who lives in Germany. He had originally sent this photo as a response to a request we made for items with the newer Batman Logo but I saved it for now. It's a special German-Issue of Batman which came with an original comic book art sketch on the cover! They need to do that here. The last photo is from a reader in Belgium who wrote that these Batman Cookies were out awhile back but no longer in stores. Oh man, I would love to have a box of these Bat-Cookies! The graphics all around the box are extremely cool! I wanna thank everybody who send these pics & as always, I wanna invite other readers, in or out of the USA, to send us your photos!

Batman Appears in Brussels Political Ad Campaign

Batman, or I should say "Blind Batman", has recently appeared in a political ad campaign in Brussels for the country of Belgium. Basically they are asking for some diversity in their government. As an example they use a Black Superman, a Woman Incredible Hulk, & a Blind Batman. Here's a link if ya wanna check it out. It's a pretty cool looking Flash-website ...but I can't read it!!
