Battle Marines In Dazzling 'Avatar' Concept Art

K is for Kasra Farahani
The best scenes in Avatar (2008) are the scenic and lush views of Pandora, but there's no denying the battles between the evil marines and the native Na'vi were thrilling.

Thanks to this concept art you can get some dazzling views of the scenes where Jake and other Na'vi lays the smackdown on the Marine AMP suits.

Official Synopsis
In a distant future, humanity discovers the planet 'Alpha Centauri B-4', and for those scientists and astronauts who've traversed the gulf between neighboring suns and arrived on its alien soil know it as 'Pandora'. A world filled with an incredible diversity of beautiful and deadly ammonia-breathing lifeforms. Its also a world that harbors treasures and resources almost beyond price. But just as the original Pandora's Box wrought devastation on those who would use it for their own gain, so too this world may destroy not just the Pandorans home, but ours as well.
Avatar is the story of a wounded ex-marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.

Kasra Farahani, who also worked on films like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Spider-Man 3 (2007) has a few samples on his site of "scene 234." This is near the end of the film so, SPOILER ALERT!!

Can you seeeee what the Na'vi are cooking?! You can see more of Kasra Farahani's portfolio at www.zafron.com.

What do you think of the illustrations? What was your favorite part of Avatar?

Would Guys Lust Over The Freaky Na'vi From AVATAR Concept Art?

Would the blockbuster movie Avatar have been as popular if the Na'vi looked as freaky as the concept art below?
It's interesting to see the things that changed. The bio-luminescence of the flaura of Avatar's Pandora was eliminated. The faces look much more alien. and the hair look more like tendrils.

Ney’tiri looks like the kind of girl you could take home to Mom. In the concept art she looks more like the kind of girl you'd wake up with after a night at a bar.

there's some controversy as to whether this is really concept art for the film at all. Marketsaw posted the images. The artist, Jonay Bacallado, contacted them and told them they weren't real after all. Either way, they're pretty good.
