For new readers, the BAT-BLOG.COM is mainly about the joys of being a Collector of the Toys and other fun Bat-Memorabilia, both new and vintage. Here are some examples of older items that are sort of "Candy or Chewing Gum" related. The 1st photo is probably the rarest of all the ones shown here, it's a Package for 1966 BATMAN CANDY STICKS from England. I totally love the graphics on this thing! Next up is another UK Candy item except they're a little more new. These were also Candy Sticks but featured art from BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES. They were made by the Thorneycroft Candy Company, which British people would probably be familiar with. Then we have a photo of some individually-wrapped JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA Tattoo Bubble Gum! These were made in the USA by the Fleer Candy Co. between 1969 and 1970. When you open the tiny wax wrapper there's a separate piece of paper with one of those water-based tattoos on it. I actually have one of these, with BATMAN... unopened! OK, last but not least, is a photo a Friend sent me awhile back because he knew it would torture me, ha! Shown here is a completely full PEZ CANDY DISPENSER Store Display Box!! This is from the mid 1970's and oh my god, they were only 59 cents, ha! We got the Penguin, Joker, Batgirl, batman, and Wonder Woman. Oh yeah, these were also the "rubber head" versions which are way harder to find.Listen, the BAT-BLOG is about sharing the love of collecting old Bat-Toys and even the new stuff. So, if you have some pics of super-rare items or if you come across some totally brand-new merchandise then please let us know, thanks!

Just recently, on evil eBay, a Rare ROBIN The Boy Wonder PEZ CANDY Dispenser Prototype sold for $1540.00, wow! Back in the 1970's the PEZ CANDY Company came out with a set of DC Comics Superhero Dispensers. They made Batman, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, The Joker, and The Penguin. Now that was not a big deal really. They came out with new characters all the time. But the thing about these that were special were that they had "rubber heads" instead of the regular hard plastic ones. PEZ experimented with this on occasion & there are a few "Rubber Heads" out there. I don't know if they were created for safety reasons or to lower the cost of production, who knows. But as a manufacturing company PEZ needed to create promotional literature to send to Retail Store chains so these places would order their product. So, from time to time, they would make these "fake PEZ" for the photographs, usually, before production happened. Most of the time they had already created a mold in which to make the product. OK, for a promo photo they added some ROBIN PEZ that they were considering. Why he was dropped nobody knows but my guess is that they thought he would not sell very well ( everybody will want "Batman" ) or they wanted a "Girl PEZ" to make sure that Moms bought these toys for their Daughters too. That might explain the weird fact that there is a "Wonder Woman" mixed in with all these Batman characters. So now this long-winded story ( sorry ) gets to the modern-day Auction. This eBay Seller had somehow come across this RARE "Robin" Prototype that was still "MINT in Original Package" & never produced on a large scale. Like, I don't know the exact numbers, but they might have only made 10 of these & then how many of these exist today? So, in both the PEZ collecting world and Batman Memorabilia this ROBIN PEZ is super-rare!

Check out this amazing Collection of BATMAN TOYS!! Here are just a few photos of our good friend Seth's BAT-CAVE Room! Now, because of space limitations I can only post a few pics but please be sure to check them all out. I know that if you do you will be drooling for days, ha! I mean, there's some really great stuff here: Action Figures, Hot Wheels, PEZ, Masks, Toys, Blankets, Statues, Vinyl Figures, Nodders, Corgi Die-Cast Cars, Toothbrush Holders, Dolls, Puzzles, Puppets, & even Batman Band-Aids! WOW! The list could go on & on forever!
I love how everything is displayed & it's so cool that they're able to use an entire room for the collection. My only worry is that they will probably have to buy a bigger house someday, ha! But all kidding aside I do wanna thank Seth for sharing his BATMAN Toy Collection with all of us. It's great to see a bunch of cool Bat-items all together and this BAT-CAVE room is totally AWESOME! Now, there were way too many pics to share in one post & I will be posting more in the near future, so everybody please keep an eye out for those.
Our friend Christopher sent us this awesome photo of the brand-new BATMAN PEZ CANDY Dispenser he found at Toys R Us! Click on it for a larger, more detailed, photo. This is a part of the PEZ : JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA Set which also includes Superman & Green Lantern ( To see those toys just click HERE! ). This pic shows the "Carded PEZ", which I like better than the poly-bags. Thanks Chris!

About 2 months ago, here at the Bat-Blog, we reported about the next new Batman PEZ that would be a part of the DC Comics' JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA Set. Back then we had a "prototype photo" & as it turns out it looks pretty much like the actual item. So, up above are some pictures of the real deal and we also get to see the PEZ Display-Box Header Card. There are three to collect: Superman, Green Lantern, & Batman! If these are not in your stores already they will be soon so please be sure to keep an eye out. I think these are pretty cool!
Just a quick post to let everybody know about a brand-new Batman Toy to keep an eye out for in the future. DC Comics & PEZ CANDY Inc. have teamed-up to create the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA PEZ. This special PEZ Candy Dispenser Set will feature a bust of each character. So far they have announced Batman, Superman, & Green Lantern. But I'm guessing they will also be making other Superheroes as well ( Let's hope ). I mean, Hey! Where's Wonder Woman? Up above is a prototype photo. Stay tuned to the Bat-Blog & as soon as there is anymore news we'll let ya know.

The main focus of the Bat-Blog is to share the joy of collecting Batman Toys and Bat-Products, both old & new. OK, I know we also cover the TV Shows, Cartoons, Movies, Video Games, etc...but we're mainly all about being a collector. Now one of my personal favorite areas of collecting is the neat stuff they made in the 1970's. I was a little kid during that period so they have a lot of nostalgia for me. Plus, they made a lot of wacky items back then, ha! Here's just a small example: Check out this Original Batman PEZ Store Display Box. The vintage graphics are wonderful. Back in 1976 the PEZ company made a set of PEZ Candy Dispensers of Batman, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, The Penguin, & The Joker. The cool thing, also, was that they had rubber heads ( instead of the regular hard plastic ). Today, these babies are extremely hard-to-find! Plus, why isn't the Penguin shown on the box? Strange. The next item is RARE too. Here is a Batman Finger Puppets Play Set made in 1976 by Ideal. Basically it was a set of molds where you could make some superhero character heads out of Modeling Dough. The next item is a Batman Toy Watch made by MARX Toys. It's from around 1977 & I totally remember having it as a little kid, ha! I have one of these in my personal collection ( but NOT in the original packaging ). The last item is one that I didn't even know existed until about a year ago & I've been a serious collector for 20+ years. It's a Batman L'il Zips Bat-Cycle made by AHI. OK, I knew there were one of these Bat-Cycles out there ( a larger one ) but this one is very small, a different scale. Hence the name, "L'il Zips". Someday this baby WILL BE MINE! I hope some of these pics bring back fond memories. I have a question...Do YOU have any RARE Batman Toys you would like to share? If so then please send us some pics today. Our email button is always on the top right-hand side of this page.

Alright, alright! I know that lately the Bat-Blog has been kind of crazy over Batman Costumes, Artwork, & Crafts but the retail stores are sort of lame right now with the New Batman Merchandise so there's not much to report there. So today I decided that I gotta do a post about Old Vintage Batman Toys because "Collecting" is a major part of this fan page. So...Here we go! This selection of items are all from the 70's. The 1st photo is a hard-to-find paperback Book published by Tempo Books in 1978. It's title is "Batman's Super-Villain Mazes". I love that Joker graphic on the front. Even without showing his face you know it's him, ha ha. The next item is from around 1976. It's a MIP ( Mint-In-Package ) Batman PEZ CANDY Dispenser. But the weird thing is that this one has a Rubber-Head. Yes, most PEZ have a solid hard-plastic head but in the 1970's they experimented with a few rubber heads. Maybe it was a safety issue thing or a "make more profit" thing, who knows. They released a few different characters with these & then they stopped. This PEZ is pretty RARE, especially in the original package. The next item is probably the rarest of the whole bunch. This is the BATMAN SOFTIES DOLL made by Mego. It came out in 1974 & it's sort of just a 19" plush doll with clothing. Now, I have been an extremely serious Batman Toy Collector for over 25 years & I have NEVER even seen one of these, loose or in the box! As a Vintage Toy Dealer I have found a few of these that they made of Superman ( loose, no box ) but that's been many years ago. If one of these pops-up in your hunt then be sure to grab it, ha ha! The last item is kinda cheesy but that's a big part of it's appeal. It's one of those "Grocery Store Toys" where the only thing that makes it "collectible" is the fact that the header card has graphics of Batman & Robin. OK, Now actually, this Rocket Toy ( ©1979 ) does have a Batman Sticker on it. But I bet you can never find that in decent condition. It's very cheaply made! I hope you have enjoyed some of these blasts from the past. If you're a Batman toy collector, with any size collection, then please shoot us some photos! Sharing the love of collecting is what the Bat-Blog is mainly all about!!
A friend of ours over at MySpace, named Andrew, sent me this cool photo of his Batman Memorabilia Collection. I spent some time checking it out & there's some really neat stuff here. He's got that "Reese's Candy Header Card for The Dark Knight Store Display", The "Batman Fleece Throw Blanket", some Action Figures, the Batman Pez, & much much more. Oh yeah, is that a plush toy of "Ace, The Bathound"? I think so!! Thanks Andrew for sharing this photo. I love to see other people's collections, that's awesome!

Tonight I dropped by the evil Wal-Mart to pick up a few household supplies & found this brand-new BATMAN PEZ BOXED SET by accident! It looks like they have boxed the set of 4 Batman Pez in a special box! It includes Two-Face, Riddler, Batman, & The Joker! OK, most of us have already bought these, either bagged or carded, but this display box with the awesome Batman graphics is kinda cool! Plus, the PEZ of Batman is special & different because they put a "yellow oval" bat-logo on the Pez Body near his chest area... Whoopie! But, I guess another reason I bought it was because it was only around $8.00 & that's not a bad price for something this cool.
