JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA OVALTINE POSTER & T-SHIRT Ultra Rare 1960's Batman Memorabilia!

OK, I thought I'd do a quick post to share this ultra-rare piece of Bat-History! These photos are of 2 items that recently sold on evil eBay. One is a Store Display Poster for an offer to buy an OVALTINE Mail-Away Premium "JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA" T-Shirt. Those bright day-glo colors must have been seen by every little kid for a 3 mile radius, ha ha! Then, the next photo shows the actual JLA T-Shirt you could have got back in the 1960's ( I'm guessing around 1966 or 1967 ). Oh man, the retro-style graphics are totally beautiful and it even features Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and The Flash! I wish I had these 2 pieces, especially that poster. But, I guess I'll just have to enjoy these pictures because this stuff is so ultra-rare it will probably never be seen by me in my lifetime. It's what we serious Vintage Toy Collectors call a "Museum Piece".

VIDEO - JUSTICE LEAGUE DOOM - Alfred's Sarcasm

JUSTICE LEAGUE DOOM DVD Cover Art - DC Universe Original Animated Movie

Well, we finally got a photo of the JUSTICE LEAGUE: DOOM DVD Cover Art & here it is! The cool thing is that "Batman" is the main featured character ( He deserves it, because he's the coolest, ha! ). This movie is an adaptation of Mark Waid’s "Tower of Babel" story-arc that was seen in older comic book issues of Justice League of America.

The basic story is Batman has been keeping secrets about how to destroy each JLA member just in case one ever goes rogue! The information is stored on his Bat-Computer in the Batcave. Batman feels pretty secure about nobody being able to get this data but R'as Al Ghul steals it & then the real crisis really gets going!

The list of Voice Actors includes Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy, Nathan Fillion, Michael Rosenbaum, and Susan Eisenberg, among others. Look for it to hit retail stores around early 2012.

New HUGE Art Bust Statue - Homer Simpson as Batman, The Dark Knight!

While searching "Batman Statues" on eBay the other night I can across this "Homer Batman" one that is both pretty cool & very clever. Now, I don't know if it's an actual licensed product so I'm not going to completely endorse it ( Plus, I don't know anything about the quality of the item ). But I thought I would share it as "Batman News" because this thing is awesome! It's basically a super giant-size bust of Homer Simpson dressed as the Dark Knight! As a side-note, these are the guys who also sell a Complete Set of Life-Size Justice League of America Statues ( We're showing the Batman one as an example ). Oh yeah, they also make one of Mickey Mouse Statue which is obviously NOT Batman-related but I think it's extremely cool!

Well, besides being extremely cool, the same company also makes many other members of the Justice League. Just check out the 2nd photo: Superman, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern!!

TOY FAIR 2010 - Justice League Plush Dolls by Funco ( Batman )

More News from TOY FAIR 2010: OK, you know the toy company named FUNKO? They make those awesome Wacky Wobbler Nodders. I really love those things. Well, now they have another division in their company that makes cute Character Plush Dolls ( or Plushes ). They're doing the Wizard of OZ, Alice in Wonderland, & the Justice League of America! To get things started here are Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, & Superman. Now this totally makes me wonder since they finally ( finally! ) got the right to do DC Comics comic book characters then maybe, just maybe, they might start to make a few Funko Bobblehead Nodders. That would be so awesome!!

Baby Desmond ( The Littlest Bat-Fan ) Models new DC Superhero & Batman T-Shirts From Target!

You might remember awhile back we featured an adorable photo of a super-cute baby boy named Desmond, wearing a special Batman Toddler T-Shirt. Well, he's growing-up like crazy & here's a more recent photo. Look at him, he is sooooo CUTE! Plus, I love the great smile on his face too. I guess being a Batman Fan makes him happy, ha ha! His parents, Seth and Melissa, wrote this wonderful letter with their e-mail:

"Just wanted to share the great new Baby T-Shirts that we just found at Target. They finally came out with Batman shirts!!! Desmond , now 4 months old, was featured on the Bat-Blog in May in his only Batman shirt...but now he has two more and Daddy couldn't be more proud! So Desmond ( the Littlest Bat Fan ) wanted to model this fall's Baby Batman Line from Target :) Thanks for the Bat-Blog...We all luv it!!!"

Wow! Thanks Guys. Desmond is getting way bigger & I seriously love these pics, thank you. Also, thanks for all the kind words about this blog, I appreciate that. Please keep us updated to how Desmond is doing. Now, Y'all HAVE to get him a Bat-Cape to go with his outfit, ha ha!

BATMAN: THE STONE KING Audio Book By GraphicAudio

Along time ago, while hitting garage sales, I came across a paperback book titled "Justice League of America : BATMAN The Stone King". It was a trade paperback book written by Alan Grant. The cover had a painting by Alex Ross. It looked pretty cool so I bought it to add to my crazy collection. I mean, it was only 50 cents so I HAD to get it, ha ha! But, the deal is, I never got around to reading it...too busy with the Bat-Blog, I guess. Well, the other night I thought I would get on the web & track down a book review on this story to see what people thought about it. Like, if it was worth reading or not. All the reviews I was able to find said it was pretty good so, in the near future, I plan on reading it. Now to get to the Batman Audio Book shown here. While surfing the net I came across this company called GRAPHIC AUDIO that has this same book but in the audio book format. Basically you can listen to a group of actors playing out the story of this book with sound effects & everything. Sort of like "hearing a movie or play". The part that I think is kinda crazy is that it is SIX HOURS long!! Yeah, 6 full hours of Batman-entertainment...WOW! Now, I have not been able to buy this yet but at their website they have an audio clip sample to hear & it sounds like a pretty cool concept. The set comes with 6 CDs & priced at only about $19.99 it's not a bad deal. You can also download it as a MP3 for $12.99. Personally, I'd rather own the CD set because it's something I could add to my collection...we'll see. Here's a link button for their page. Be sure to check it out sometime but please remember too BOOKMARK the Bat-Blog before ya go!

Vintage 1960's BATMAN TOYS and MEMORABILIA To Drool Over!

I have been covering a lot of news lately about a lot of the brand-new Batman Toys that are out there to collect & thought I'd do a post about some wonderful old vintage toys. The 1st photo is an amazing piece of Bat-History & also quite rare. It's the 1966 BATMAN BAT-WATCH by Amsco. This item is really beautiful. I mean the watch, with moving bat-hands, is very cool but the vintage graphics on the card are really great! I like the bright simple primary colors...nice! The next piece has a lot of graphic style also. It's an original bread wrapper for BATMAN BREAD! It too is from the mid-1960's. This pic was sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader named Wes who wanted to share this rare piece in his personal collection ( Thank You Wes ). The last photo is an item that is probably the most rare of all. It's a Justice League of America Rubber-Figure Set, Mint on Original Card. It was made by Multiple Toymakers ©1967. The figures include: Aquaman, Superman, Batman, & Wonder Woman. One thing about it that totally cracks me up is the original retail price back then was 19 cents!! Do you have any Vintage Batman Toys or Memorabilia in your toy collection that you would like to share? If so, then please e-mail us a photo today! The Bat-Blog is all about sharing the love of collecting, thanks.
