BATYY HALLOWEEN - Robin and The Riddler in Battle!
RIDDLE ME THIS, "What is it that no man wants to have, yet no man wants to lose ?" Answer: A Lawsuit! Ha Ha! Sorry, I had to do a wacky riddle because this next group of pictures feature the Riddler! Yes, Gotham City has recently been threatened by the Prince of Puzzles. But wait! Robin is on the case & ready to fight crime! What will happen next?!
These fun pics were sent in by our friend Jessica to share the Halloween Costumes that her & her friend Linh made this year. Jessica is Robin & Linh is the Riddler! Both costumes are totally great! I have always felt that homemade outfits are the very best & this is total proof. I wanna thank them both for taking the time to shoot these wonderful photos. Plus, I hope that they, and all BAT-BLOG Fans, have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
NEW BATMAN COLLECTIBLES - Wonderful BATGIRL and CATWOMAN PULLIP DOLLS From JAPAN!
POW! Here are 2 brand-new Bat-Collectibles to keep an eye out for because they're both extremely cool! I mean, I totally love these!! Here are BATGIRL and CATWOMAN Dolls made by Pullip Toys of Japan. These awesome Japanese Toys were sold as an EXCLUSIVE at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con! But don't worry, they're also being sold online & finding them is pretty easy. They retail for around $130.00 each. In one photo you can see their nice Display Boxes. The dolls are really great. I like their big heads ( ha ha ) & the costumes are wonderful. Also, the very last photo shows 2 variations that were EXCLUSIVES in Japan only. They were sold at the "Wonder Festival" & are limited to 400 pieces each. Personally, I like the SDCC versions better because their hair color is more accurate.

Next up is a nice Family Portrait with Batman, Joker, & Robin! Our friend Lauren is the Joker & his Buddy Kman is Robin, the Boy Wonder! Great pic guys & you all look AWESOME!
Now, last but not least, is our friend Maggie. She said she found this Purple Jacket in a Thrift Store, it's perfect! What a good find! Plus, the rest of her costume & make-up is great too. Well, it looks like certain cities are gonna have to deal with the Joker this Halloween. I wanna thank everybody who shared their special photos. Posting these pics has been a lot of fun! Brand-New Wacky BATMAN AND ROBIN Products To Look Out For!
The real main focus of the BAT-BLOG.COM is to share the fun and joy of collecting cool Batman stuff! We report on a lot of the mainstream products but we also like to feature unusual items that might go under the radar. Here's some great examples. The 1st two pics were sent in by our Good Friend & Awesome Bat-Reporter, BATMOBILLY! He went on the Retail Store Hunt recently & came up with these unusual items.
First, here is a LEGO BATMAN Winter Hat & Glove Set for Kids. Hey, these are pretty awesome, I'd wear them! I totally love the graphics & the image of Batman & Robin climbing the wall totally make me wonder if it's a homage to the 1966 TV Show, ha! It looks like that famous scene, doesn't it?!
Next up is totally new line of Action Figures that Batmobilly found at Toys-R-Us. They are 4 Batman "STEALTH STRIKE" Toys! He said they were unknown to him & I gotta admit that I have not heard any news of them either, it's like they just came outta no where!
OK, the last photo is a totally cool piece to try to add to your collection but getting it is going to be difficult. Why? It's not a regular retail item but a special Store Display Standee for the BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Video Game. This photo was sent in by our friend Jacob and, if I remember right, he said he got it at Wal-Mart. About the only way to get one of these is to go stalk Retail Stores that might have these & totally suck-up to the Store Manager, ha! I got some of these a few years back for the BATMAN LEGO Game from Blockbuster Video.

Nokia unveils first Windows phones
Nokia unveils first Windows phones
It could also mark a turnaround for Microsoft's unpopular Windows Phone 7 software.
Nokia CEO Stephen Elop unveiled the company's new partnership with Windows Phone 7 today in the form of the Nokia Lumia 800 - a hi-tech, mid-priced handset running the latest version of Microsoft's operating system.
The phone costs £364. The cheaper, lower specced Lumia 710 model will cost just £234. Both will go on sale across Europe in November.
The pricing in particular could be crucial in putting Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 back in competition with its smartphone rivals.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that the Windows giant would cut prices to drive sales.

How is Giger Involved In Penthouse Model's Death?
Anneka Vasta, who was the Penthouse Pet of the Year in 1975, was found dead on the beach January 4th. For some reason a picture with her and H.R. Giger are all over the Internet.
Vasta was best known for her role in the film Caligula, which film critic Roger Ebert famously walked out of for it's content. Her death is being heavily investigated, but I can't figure out why so many articles about her death feature the photo above with the caption: Anneka Vasta, left, posed for this April 1980 photo with Swiss artist H.R. Giger, who was nominated for an academy award for his visual effects for the movie 'Alien.'"
H.R. Giger (Hans Rudolf "Ruedi" Giger) of course is the world renowned Swiss surrealist painter, sculptor, and set designer. He won an Academy award for his work as one of the concept artists from Alien.
At 59, they say her body was so slim and youthful that they thought she was a teenager. There are only a handful of pictures of her on the Internet, so I guess this is the one people want to use to emphasize how young she looked.
The photo is from a 1980 showing of his artwork for the movie Alien in the Hansen Galleries in New York City. Other than that photo there appears to be no connection between the two whatsoever. I just find it weird that her death is now closely linked to a photo of the concept artist from twenty years ago.
As a public service here are two other photos of the model Anneka Vasta you can use.
Check out H.R. Giger's website http://giger.com/
Do you find it strange that the photo of Giger is connected to a murder? Let me know in the comments.

Two Real-Life BATMAN HEROES Raise Funds For Cerebral Palsy Children's Charity!
OK, Here's a story that we can all be very very proud of! Our Good Friend & Serious Bat-Reporter BATDAVE sent us this story with wonderful photos. Last Monday, the "Galloping Hill Cruisers Car Club" held their annual Halloween Fundraiser at the Historic 1920's FIVE POINTS Hot Dog Stand in Union Township, NJ. And, thanks to the presence of BATMAN that night, the Cruisers were able to collect over $2000 for a local Cerebral Palsy Children's Charity called NJID ( The New Jersey Institute for Disabilities ). At the event were two real-life heroes dressed as 2 different styles of Batman, the "Adam West and Christian Bale" versions. There was also an extremely nice 1966 Batmobile Replica Car there as well! The fun-filled event went on for almost 5 hours & everybody had a great time. But the more important thing, was that it raised a lot of money for an extremely good cause!
BATMAN AUCTION NEWS - Hake's Americana & Collectibles Goes Batman Crazy in November!
If you are a Vintage Batman Toy Collector then right now is the time to check out the "Hake's Americana & Collectibles" website. They are currently running a few very amazing LOTS of super-rare Batman items. The photos of treasures shown here are only a small example. The 1st pic shows a few pieces from the BATMAN EXECUTIVE DESK SET, which, they are selling in it's original box. Now, to be honest, this is not the rarest item they have... but it's very sought after by Serious Bat-Collectors because it's so cool & it is actually very hard to find. I've been collecting for 25+ years & I don't have it, ha!
Speaking of RARE, the next piece is practically a "Toy Museum Piece"! No hype intended, this is a "One of a Kind" item that you may never see again. This is the original Injection Mold Piece that was used to create a rubber-vinyl head for a set of Batman Slippers back in the 1960's.
Next up, and pretty darn RARE too ( ha! ), is this BATGIRL SUPER-QUEENS DOLL. This was made by the Ideal Toy Company in 1967. This toy line didn't sell very well back then & today these figures are highly sought after. This example has her original batarang & her costume with cowl is really nice!
OK, Do you remember the BAT-MANGA JAPANESE BATMAN Book created by Chip Kidd a couple of years ago? Well, here's an extremely RARE Large 18" X 24" Promo Poster used to publicize the book. Actually, it was for an event held on January 15th, 2009 at the Philbrook Museum Of Art in Tulsa, OK. The graphics are beautiful & this baby is ULTRA-RARE!!
Now, these items are running right now, as we speak, and most will end around November 10th. Plus, like I said, I couldn't list everything they have!! So, for more information be sure to visit the HAKES AUCTION Website & while you're there be sure to use their SEARCH function & hunt down more "BATMAN"!
