Real-Life Batman DARK KNIGHT RISES in Taipei City, Taiwan!

you can view a video that tells the story about a Serious Guy in Taipei City who is a real-life BATMAN, fighting crime and everything! It appears he takes his "job" quite seriously. He actually dresses up as the Dark Knight & drives around looking for trouble, ha! HOT TOYS BATMAN FIGURE EXHIBIT in Taipei City, Taiwan

Check out these wonderful photos sent-in by our Good Friend Jerry who lives in Taiwan. He recently went to a Toy Collector Exhibit of HOT TOYS Figures in Taipei City. They showcased a ton of different dolls they have made but because we're all about BATMAN, and have limited space, we're gonna focus on the ones of the Dark Knight.

All the Batman-related dolls were set-up individually in special showcases. Then, they they took a few extra dolls ( I mean, Figures! ) where they build extremely detailed dioramas of imagined scenes from THE DARK KNIGHT Movie using Batman ( Christian Bale version ), The Joker ( Heath Ledger ), the Bat-Pod Motorcycle, and the Tumbler Batmobile Car.

They also had the Batman ( Michael Keaton ) and Joker ( Jack Nicholson ) Figures from the 1989 Movie. But they were not included in the dioramas.

Jerry's Photos: CUSTOM BATMAN 12" HOT TOYS FIGURES

Our good friend Jerry, who lives in Taiwan, sent us some amazing photos the other day. He recently went to a store at some shopping mall in Taipei City called "Taiwan Figure Union". He said he saw a lot of awesome stuff, such as these 12" Batman Movie Custom Figures that some Bat-Fans got to display in the front store windows. I have to say that they are all very impressive with really great head sculpts. I mean, some of them look just like the original actors! The main focus for most of the dolls appear to be the 2005 BATMAN BEGINS movie, but in photo #2 we get to see a version from an earlier Batman movie, maybe 1992 BATMAN RETURNS-inspired. They made one of the "R'as al Ghul" character & it looks exactly like Liam Neeson, ha! They also made a more Modern Day "Comic Book JOKER" but used the body from THE DARK KNIGHT Heath Ledger figure by HOT TOYS ( in fact, I think all these customs were made using HOT TOYS bodies and it was just the heads & clothing that were customized ). The one of Police Sergeant Jim Gordon is one of my personal favorites as they did an amazing job on Gary Oldman's face. They did a few variations on Bruce Wayne's character which are pretty interesting. Overall, I would have to say that I'm very very impressed with all of these. As a side-note: I'm not really sure if they were all done by one artist or many different ones, but either way, very great work! Also, I wanna thank Jerry for taking the time to shoot these pics & sharing his love of the Batman Character with us. It's really neat seeing what goes on in Taiwan & it's so cool that there are serious Bat-Fans there too!!

TOY GARAGE - Toy Collector Magazine From Taiwan with Batman Movie Cover!

Jerry, our friend who lives in Taiwan, sent us these photos of a Toy Collector Magazine there called TOY GARAGE. This issue came out around the time of THE DARK KNIGHT movie & featured some cool Bat-Collectibles. In fact, Batman was on the cover & the main story was about some of the statues & busts made by HOT TOYS & KOTOBUKIYA. It's so cool to me how Batman is extremely popular all over the world. THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Ad Banners in Taipei City!

WOW! Last week I met a Batman Fan all the way from Egypt & now one from Taiwan...how cool is that? Last night I got a very nice email from a new friend named Jerry who lives there. He wrote to say how much he loved the Bat-Blog ( I never get tired of hearing that, ha ha! ) & he sent these wonderful photos he took awhile back in Taipei City. As you can see, THE DARK KNIGHT Batman movie was a very big deal there. In fact, they posted these HUGE mural-size billboards advertising the film. I totally love that! Taipei City is a great place I would like to visit. For awhile it had the tallest building in the world until when Dubai recently completed their latest skyscraper & stole the title. But regardless, it's one of the world's greatest cities & a very beautiful place. I want to thank Jerry for sending these fun pics & also want to invite all other Bat-Blog Readers to do the same. BATMAN BEGINS Vending Machine Figures From Taiwan!

The other day while surfing the Internet I came across a website for a toy company named "Tommy Bear" in Taiwan that makes large & small figures that are prizes inside vending machines. I think the small ones are for gumball machines & the larger ones are the crane-operated ones ( The Claw! ). Anyway, back in the day they made some for the Batman Begins movie. There were 6 to the complete set. The figures are actually very well sculpted & look great! The weird thing is that 5 of them are extremely realistic & 1 of them is sort of goofy-looking. I first discovered them by seeing the 2nd photo. It was taken at some trade show in Taiwan. Be sure to click on that one because you can see a larger pic where the details are really nice. The other pics are advertising-promo graphics from the company. Speaking of them, I contacted Tommy Bear & it appears they still make them but they are not for sale in the USA. I guess I'll have to check other sources to get some but I thought they were pretty cool.

THE DARK KNIGHT Gets Some Cool Outdoor Movie-Billboard Advertising in Taiwan!!

This morning I was totally delighted when I opened my e-mail & got this awesome photo from a dedicated Bat-Blog Reader ( Thanks Chen! ). It's a wonderful photo showing the HUGE billboard advertising that Warner Bros is doing in Taiwan!! If you look closely ( Click on the small picture up above for a larger, more detailed shot ) you can see a few of the different "movie posters" sprinkled all around, nice!
