RARE Vintage 1966 BATMAN TOYS and Merchandise!

It's time once again at the Bat-Blog to post a few photos of some extremely RARE Batman Toys & Merchandise for Bat-Collectors to totally drool over! So, start drooling now. The 1st item is the 1966 BATMAN FLYING COPTER by Remco. It's shown here in the original box & I completely love the retro-style graphics. Next up, is the 1966 BATMAN FLIP-FLASHLIGHT. Now, talk about amazing graphics....this thing is beautiful!! It's amazing that it is still on the original blister card & never opened. As a little kid I would have ripped this puppy open at the store! You know, I have been an Antique & Collectibles Dealer for over 20 years, mostly toys. One day, along time ago, I bought an extremely rare toy, in the original box still shrink-wrapped, from a lady at a garage sale. I thought it was totally crazy that it had never been opened. I asked her about it & she said that she had bought the toy for her son for his birthday way back in the 1960's. She said that she had hid it from him, in the very back of her closet, & when it came time for her to give it to him she had totally forgot where she put it, ha ha! She said she panicked & ran over to Sears to buy duplicates of the toy she had previously bought! Then, about 35 years later ( around the time of this garage sale ) she found it. So, this sort of explains how items like this end up existing after all these years. Speaking of MIP ( Mint in Package ) items, our last item in the list is super rare to find unopened! This is the 1966 BATMAN BELT BUCKLE made by the Morris Belt Company. I've seen this buckle "loose" many times but I've only seen it like this maybe once or twice. Do you have any super-rare Batman Toys in YOUR collection that YOU would like to share? If so, then please send us some pictures, thanks.

Reference Photos: VINTAGE 1970's BATMAN TOYS and MEMORABILIA

From the very beginning the Bat-Blog has been all about the joys of collecting Batman with a special focus on the cool Vintage Toys. Here are a few examples: The 1st picture is a RARE Set of 1970's Official Batman & Robin Sky Diving Parachutist Figures, Mint on original card. I seriously love the retro graphics on these from 1973. They're just basic hard-plastic figures with a flimsy-plastic parachute but I had one of these as a kid & it brings back a lot of fond memories. The one I had was Superman though & I used to wonder, "Why did Superman need a parachute??", ha ha! The next photo is the cutest. It's a super-cute little Batman Batcopter & it's so adorable, yes it is, who's the cutest little Batcopter!? This was also a toy from the 70's. The next photo is actually a picture from a Vintage Aldens Store Sales Catalog. It's the REMCO "Flying Bat-Copter" Playset that was sort of like those Verti-Bird playsets. Remember those? I used to have one with a Police Helicopter theme & used to play with it for hours! Hey, wait a second. I just realized this post has a total "Seventies Theme", ha ha!

Vintage 1960's Batman Toys and Memorabilia

I got an e-mail today from a BAT-BLOG reader asking when I was gonna post some more Vintage 60's Toys. OK Gary, Here ya go!! First up is a RARE piece of Bat-Memorabilia from 1966. This is a nice set of Batman Battery-Operated Wrist Radios made by Remco. They are shown with the original box that has some really cool vintage graphics! The next photo is a RARE Set of Batman & Robin Colorforms Cartoon Kit Play Set, also from 1966. There were a lot of villains included in this game: The Joker, Penguin, & Riddler. We also love the large Bat-Signal in the sky! The 3rd bit of Bat-Nostalgia is a full-case of Batman & Robin Society Pin-Back Buttons. Wear one of these & everyone knows you're a Charter Member! RARE Vintage 1960's BATMAN TV SHOW TOYS!!

Now it's ONLY my personal opinion but I think some of the best Vintage Batman Toys made were during the 1966 TV Show series. I think maybe because that's what I grew up with & it's where my childhood memories are. Of course, younger collectors like the toys from their childhood & that's either the 1989 Batman Movie or the Batman Animated Series, which I really love too. Here are some examples of the great stuff made in the 1960's!! The 1st photo is the MAGIC-MAGNETIC GOTHAM CITY PLAYSET made by REMCO. This vintage Batman toy was HUGE & had buildings, figures, etc. It's also pretty RARE as I have never seen one! This photo was sent in by a loyal BAT-BLOG reader named Jake ( Thanx Jake! ). The 2nd picture is a wonderful store display card selling Batman Combs. This is a beautiful masterpiece of ART & deserves to be in the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art, ha ha!! The last item is, of course, the classic 1966 Batman Boardgame made by Hasbro. This is one of my favorites because the actual game board has such cool artwork, worthy of framing. They really designed this one very well as they usually stamp some kind of generic art on these. Remember, you can always click on the photos to see larger ones that are more detailed & be sure to check out the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for many many more Vintage Batman Memorabilia like Mego, Corgi, Kenner, TransOgram, Ideal, etc...
