I just realized the other day that we have not posted any cool Vintage BATMAN Toys in awhile so here we go! SPOILER ALERT: These photos are gonna make you both drool and cry! First up is this Ultra-Rare 1960's ROBIN HAND PUPPET in the original packaging. It was made by Ideal Toys in 1966. This Puppet is kinda hard to find just "loose" but getting it "Mint in Box" is worthy of putting in a Toy Museum!
Next, is another RARE item and it's also kinda fun. This is a 1966 BATMAN AND ROBIN TOY PRIZE Header Card that showed what toy premiums you could win in a Gumball Vending Machine. Wow! They were only 10 cents! I know I would have begged my Mom for a Dime, or two, or three, ha!
Last, but not least, is an ultra super-rare BATMAN TOY that I have to admit, in 20+ years of extremely serious bat-collecting, I have never EVER seen before! This was on evil eBay awhile back and I almost cried when I saw it. It's an extremely weird toy, sort of a thin-plastic BAT-A-RANG on a string! It's shown here still in it's original box & the retro-style graphics are wonderful!! It sold for quite a bit and whoever owns it better take good care of it, ha!
OK, I hope you've enjoyed some of these cool toys. Do YOU have an ultra-rare bat-item or a piece you just completely love? If so, then please shoot us a photo today. Remember: Sharing the love of Collecting BATMAN is what the BAT-BLOG.COM is all about!!

Longtime Readers of the Bat-Blog might remember awhile back we posted 2 Desktop Wallpapers that featured artwork by the Graphic Artist / Painter named Tom Dougherty. One of them was Poison Ivy & the other one was The Penguin. I know you guys remember "The Penguin" one because I got a lot of e-mails about it. He was done to look just like Alfred Hitchcock. It was really cool & people went nuts, ha ha! Actually most readers liked both of them very well. Anyways, Tom just did another piece of art recently with The Joker & it's amazing! Basically it's the Joker, looking totally insane, & on his right hand is a Batman Puppet ( Be sure to click on that graphic for a larger, more sharp, version ). The funny thing is, as soon as I saw it, I recognized the hand puppet as being one that was featured here at the Bat-Blog awhile back, ha ha. It's a "German Bootleg Toy" of Batman and I posted a pic down below to jog people's memory. Now, once I started to get past the whole "puppet thing" I suddenly realized that this graphic is painted extremely well. The coloring is great! The composition is wonderful. Everything about it is awesome! OK, now if you like this guy's work then you need to check out his blog because he has a lot of artwork showing there too that's pretty cool. There's a LINK BUTTON down below. Plus, I think it's neat to see what artists are up too. You know, you always have to keep an eye on them...make sure they're now causing trouble, ha ha! ( Thanks Tom for sending the cool pic ). One last thing, if you click HERE you can see those 2 Poison Ivy & Penguin Desktop Wallpapers I was talking about, they're beautiful!
I have a friend named Faisal who likes to create puppets. He has a main character named FAZE that he likes to use for video interviews. Most of the time FAZE wears a business suit. But, for Comic Book Conventions & such he wears a special costume...as Robin, The Boy Wonder! This Robin-Suit totally cracks me up every single time I see it, ha ha! Plus, it looks like it is extremely well made. Good job Faisal & thank you for letting me post this cool pic. I love when Bat-Fans get creative so if any other readers out there have any art or craft projects, revolving around the Batman Dark Knight myth, then please send us some photos today!
I saw this 1966 JOKER HAND PUPPET on eBay awhile back & nearly freaked! I can't begin to express how super super-RARE this thing is! They made a Batman puppet which is kinda common. They also made a Robin one which is alot harder to find for some strange reason. But, this Joker puppet was sold only as an extra toy in a one store-exclusive playset. I think the store was SEARS but can't remember the exact details. Anyhoo, this is one toy I don't have in my extensive collection & really really want ( Hey readers, Christmas is coming up, LOL ).
